Gigi Paris Admits She Was 'Shattered' by Glen Powell and Sydney Sweeney Romance Rumours

Gigi Paris has opened up about the emotional fallout from her 2023 split from Glen Powell, saying she was 'shattered' by the romance rumours surrounding the actor and his Anyone But You co-star Sydney Sweeney.

Paris discussed the breakdown of her three-year relationship with Powell on the Too Much podcast episode released on 10 June 2025. She said the public speculation left her feeling disrespected and ultimately contributed to her decision to walk away.

Gigi Paris Says She Was 'Shattered'

Paris said she wanted respect from Powell, particularly because the speculation was playing out publicly.

'I just wanted respect, especially if it's gonna be public,' Paris said. 'Like, don't make an ass out of me. Like, just don't make a fool out of someone you've been with for over three years, talking about forever.'

She questioned why Powell did not publicly shut down the rumours by saying he would never cheat on his girlfriend.

'That's all that needed to be said and that wasn't said never once,' she said. 'I was shattered, shattered.'

Paris said she felt she had two choices: pretend she was comfortable with the speculation or stand up for herself and leave the relationship.

'So that's what I decided to do,' she said.

Importantly, Paris said she did not know whether anything had actually happened between Powell and Sweeney.

'I have no confirmation of what actually happened,' she said. 'I just know what my standards are. And for me, it just wasn't okay the way it was handled.'

Paris Had Obtained a Visa To Join Powell in Australia

Paris also revealed that she had obtained a work visa so she could travel to Australia and work alongside Powell while he was filming Anyone But You with Sweeney.

'I was actually trying to get a work visa to go over and work alongside my partner,' she said.

According to Paris, the situation made her question the way the film's publicity was being handled.

'To me, I was just like, whoa, that's pretty crazy just to like sell a movie,' she said.

Paris said she believed that was when she began falling out of love with Powell.

'I think that's when I just also fell out of love,' she said.

Powell and Sweeney Faced Romance Rumours

Powell and Sweeney's chemistry became a major talking point during the production and promotion of Anyone But You, fuelling public speculation that they were romantically involved.

The rumours intensified as the pair promoted the 2023 romantic comedy. Sweeney later addressed the speculation, saying the film's romantic nature contributed to what audiences wanted to believe about the pair.

However, the public speculation did not establish that Powell and Sweeney were romantically involved. Paris herself stressed that she had no confirmation of what actually happened.

Despite describing the experience as deeply painful, Paris said she eventually hoped Powell and Sweeney would become a genuine couple.

'I honestly hoped that they'd end up together,' she said. 'Cause like, at least it would make it worth it for me.'
