Overview

Rajasthan have been in glorious form thus far this season and have impressed many with their performance in all facets of the field. The Royals have won nine games of the 13 played and are favourites to take the second spot ahead of Mumbai. Rahul Dravid's captaincy and handling of his boys has been a treat to behold and a lesson of sorts for captains of other teams who have failed to make a mark.

Their last game ended in a eight wicket win over Kings XI Punjab whose chances of making it to the knockout stages look extremely bleak. Dravid put the opposition to bat who managed a score of 145 after a partnership at the top of the order between Shaun Marsh (77) and Adam Gilchrist (42). However, the rest of the batsmen failed to get a move on, unable to take their score into double digits. In reply, after an early demise of Dravid, Sanju Samson (47*) and Ajinkya Rahane (59*) held the innings together to chase the total down with one over remaining.

The Super Kings have been the star performers in this season's IPL and are favourites to take the top spot. MS Dhoni's side have won 10 of the 13 games thus far and have the best run rate in the tournament this season. The Super Kings have managed to strike a good balance between both bat and ball and are firmly on their way to reach their fourth consecutive final in the six seasons of the IPL.

Their last game against the Sunrisers Hyderabad was a reflection of their dominance in the tournament, handing the fifth placed team in the IPL a 77 run defeat. A brilliant 99 from Suresh Raina and a 67 from Michael Hussey saw Chennai to a score of 223 runs. In reply, Hyderabad succumbed to a score of 146 with Parthiv Patel top scoring with 44.
