Actress Jennifer Aniston opened up about her anxieties at a New York stage she shared with her partner, Jim Curtis.

The 'Friends' star was on stage to moderate a talk about Curtis' new book, 'The Book of Possibility'. However, the actress went on to make headlines herself by being vulnerable with Curtis and the audience.

Aniston has been dating Curtis, a wellness coach and hypnotherapist, since last year. While the two were on stage, Aniston had a dialogue with Curtis about her fears and how their relationship shaped both of their lives.

Aniston Opens Up About Her Fear of Public Speaking

The actress and her partner appeared at Kaufmann Concert Hall at 92NY Residence to promote his new book, hosting a Q&A at the venue. Aniston said that she was overcoming a 'deep fear' by hosting the event with Curtis.

Later on in the event, Curtis turned to asking Aniston questions. 'What's one possibility you're choosing today?' he asked. She replied, 'To overcome a very deep fear of public speaking.'

This remark carried added significance as Aniston had spent the evening interviewing him in front of a live audience.

The actress also elaborated on how she handles stressful situations under pressure. When asked, 'I think I'm doing really well. Deep breaths and meditation. Truly. It is five deep, deep breaths. Focus. Take a moment.'

Curtis Discusses His Own Insecurities With Aniston

Curtis also shared about how he was affected by a life-changing diagnosis he got when he was in his twenties. The wellness guru was examined by doctors who found that he had lesions in his spinal cord that resulted in partial paralysis and chronic nerve damage.

Instead of focusing on the diagnosis negatively, Curtis discussed the mindset he developed while learning to live with the condition.

'I'm not saying here that if the doctor tells you to do something, you should get up and leave,' he explained, adding, 'What I'm saying is you don't have to live as the victim. You don't have to live in your suffering. It can become your power.'

Curtis said his philosophy for navigating hardship centres around one principle: learning to 'accept it and love it.'

It didn't always come easy to Curtis, though. He also shared the emotional toll the condition had on his self-image. He admitted that he struggled to tell the truth about why he walked with a limp and created alternative explanations for it instead.

'I would say I got into a motorcycle accident,' Curtis explained. He said that the feelings stemmed from being embarrassed about his diagnosis.

'I was so shameful that I had a medical condition. I was broken in some way. I thought the motorcycle accident was at least a little macho.'

The wellness coach shared that it took around two decades of self-work to overcome that mindset, through 'self-acceptance and self-love.'

Curtis Speaks More About His Relationship With Jennifer Aniston

Curtis and Aniston had begun sharing details about their relationship to the public since last year. Curtis recently appeared on the 'The Jamie Kern Lima Show', where he spoke about their relationship quite positively.

'My experience of her is so grounded and so open and caring and kind and loving,' he said. He also spoke about how Aniston's friends welcomed him, saying that they are 'this group of best friends that are like family'.

'I feel incredibly blessed to be part of and welcomed into that family,' he said, calling it 'such a beautiful community and group of people.'

When asked about how they handle tension in the relationship, Curtis said they do 'a lot of meditation', and 'a lot of talk.'

'And, you know...in a honeymoon phase...your tools don't have to be like big sledgehammers,' he added.

Page Six reported that Aniston has become more open about her relationships recently, as the actress has been known to keep them out of the spotlight.

According to sources who spoke to the outlet, Aniston found an emotional security that she has not had in previous relationships.

One source claimed, 'This relationship is succeeding on so many levels because it's got things that Jen's never had before.' Another stated, 'she never ever questions where she stands with him — he has zero hesitation about letting her know that he is crazy about her and is totally devoted.'
