How Rich Is Kash Patel? Inside the FBI Director's Multimillion-Dollar Net Worth as He Gets Engaged to Alexis Wilkins
Consulting fees topped $2.1 million in 2024, before a capped FBI salary of $183,100

FBI Director Kash Patel, whose fortune is estimated at $6M (£4.5M), is engaged to country singer Alexis Wilkins. The couple announced the engagement on X on Sunday, 4 October.
Wilkins, 27, posted a black-and-white photograph of herself and Patel, 46, with her ring hand raised to the camera. 'Went and got the law involved,' she wrote. Patel shared the post from his personal account with ring and heart emojis. The couple have not announced a wedding date.
Wilkins is a Nashville-based singer and former host on the video platform Rumble. The two met in 2022 at an event linked to country singer John Rich and began dating early in 2023. She held the Bhagavad Gita when Patel was sworn in as FBI director on 21 February 2025.
Kash Patel's Net Worth
Forbes published its $6M estimate in May, based on his federal disclosures and property holdings. It put his cash and investment accounts at $2.3M to $5.4M (£1.7M to £4.1M). The FBI declined to comment on the estimate.
The disclosure he filed as a nominee in January 2025 reports assets in value bands, not exact sums. The bands add up to between $4.1M and more than $15M (£3.1M and £11.3M), a ProPublica tally shows. An Associated Press analysis that February cited the upper figure. The form also lists a student loan of $15,001 to $50,000 (£11,300 to £37,800) dating from 2002.
Patel, a New York-born lawyer, became a public defender in Miami-Dade County in 2005 after no corporate firm would hire him, he wrote in his 2023 book Government Gangsters. On the first episode of his podcast, Kash's Corner, in 2021, he said he had gone to law school expecting to 'go be a rich corporate lawyer.'
He became a Justice Department national security prosecutor in 2014 and later an aide to the House Intelligence Committee during its inquiry into Donald Trump's 2016 campaign and Russia. He joined Trump's National Security Council in 2019 and held White House and Pentagon posts until Trump left office in January 2021.
Patel's Net Worth Grew on Consulting, Books, and Shein Stock
Patel became managing member of a consulting firm, Trishul LLC, the following month. His disclosure lists $2.1M (£1.6M) in business income from Trishul for 2024 and $99,000 (£74,800) in contributor fees from The Epoch Times. Forbes tallied a further $232,000 (£175,200) from speaking and media work and at least $145,000 (£109,500) in royalties from that book and his three The Plot Against the King children's books.
Trishul's clients included Trump's Save America committee, the Embassy of Qatar, and the Czech arms group CSG. The form names the clients but not what each paid. Trump's political operation paid him $544,000 (£410,900).
Craig Holman of watchdog Public Citizen told the AP in February 2025, 'The conflicts of interest seem very obvious to me.' Patel's spokeswoman, Erica Knight, said he had 'gone above and beyond' in the confirmation process.
His largest disclosed holding is in Elite Depot Ltd, the Cayman Islands-registered owner of China-founded retailer Shein. He consulted for it from April 2024 until 1 January 2025 and was paid in restricted stock units valued at $1M to $5M (£755,000 to £3.8M), due to vest by 1 November 2025.
His ethics agreement states that he will keep the units because the Justice Department judged the likelihood of his duties involving the company 'remote'. The filings do not describe the work he did, and the stake's current value could not be established.
What Leading the FBI Cost Kash Patel
The director's official salary is $228,000 (£172,200), though a federal pay freeze in place since 2014 limits what he receives to $183,100 (£138,300). He still receives royalties on books already published.
The agreement required Trishul to go dormant and Patel to sell holdings in 19 companies. Transaction reports show sales of Nvidia, Apple, Meta, and Palantir stock in May 2025.

He also told senators he would not accept 25,946 shares in Trump Media, the owner of Truth Social, where he was a director from March 2022 until he joined the FBI. The board awarded them on 28 January 2025, when they were worth $779,000 (£588,400), Securities and Exchange Commission filings show.
He bought a Washington condominium for $420,000 (£317,200) in 2019, and Forbes estimates his equity in it at about $60,000 (£45,300). A company he manages holds 3.6 acres in Chantilly, Virginia, bought with a partner for $550,000 (£415,400) in 2022. It was listed at $500,000 (£377,700) in late 2025 and had not sold by May.
Once married, Patel would have to report his wife's finances on the same forms.
