Patrick Clancy Breaks Silence on TikTok Sleuths Blaming Him for His Children's Deaths: 'Lie After Lie'

Patrick Clancy has broken his silence on the TikTok sleuths who have accused him of being responsible for the deaths of his three children, saying the online theories have caused real harm while taking attention away from the tragedy itself.

Patrick described the painful effect of seeing strangers dissect his life and repeatedly suggest that he was involved in the deaths of Cora, Dawson and Callan.

Patrick Clancy Addresses the TikTok Accusations

The online speculation intensified during Lindsay's trial, with TikTok creators and other social media users examining everything from Patrick's marriage and behaviour to details surrounding the night his children died.

Some posts went as far as directly accusing him. One social media statement featured in the 60 Minutes report said, 'This is why I think Patrick did it.'

Patrick rejected the wider wave of speculation, describing it as deeply harmful to his children's memory.

'It's deeply harmful to the legacy of my children,' he told correspondent Ross Douthat. 'It is a huge distraction from what really matters here, which is perinatal mental health.'

He said the constant online discussion has also affected his ability to move through everyday life.

'It's painful to see, and it makes it difficult to be in public,' Patrick said, adding that after seeing 'lie after lie after lie', some people can eventually begin to believe the claims.

His Children's Deaths Remain at the Centre

Patrick also revisited the events surrounding the deaths of his children in January 2023.

He said he first noticed Lindsay struggling in October 2022, around five months after Callan was born. According to Patrick, Lindsay told him she had gone several nights without sleeping. He said he responded by taking care of the children so she could rest.

On New Year's Eve, Lindsay checked herself into McLean Hospital for psychiatric treatment. She was released 17 days later.

On 24 January 2023, Patrick returned home and discovered his children and Lindsay, who had also seriously injured herself. Cora, 5, and Dawson, 3, died at the home, while Callan, then eight months old, was taken to Boston Children's Hospital.

Patrick said he initially believed Callan might survive after doctors restored his heartbeat.

'I really thought there was a chance that Callan would live,' he recalled.

Callan remained alive for four days before Patrick said he was able to hold him and lie beside him as he died.

'I got to hold him. I got to lay down next to him, and he died in my arms,' Patrick said.

Patrick Says Forgiveness Was Part of His Grief

Despite everything that happened, Patrick said he has forgiven Lindsay, even though she has never asked him for forgiveness.

He explained that holding on to anger would have consumed him.

'I felt that if I didn't get there, I would be eaten up inside forever,' he said.

Patrick has also spoken about the lasting impact of losing his children, including a period when he did not think he would live to see his 35th birthday. He now keeps reminders of Cora, Dawson and Callan around his Manhattan home and continues to speak about them publicly.
