Real Housewives of Atlanta returns with season 8 this Sunday, with a lot of drama for its leading ladies, Kenya Moore, Cynthia Bailey, Kandi Burress, and Phaedrea Parks. Shereè Whitfield is making her return to RHOA, while Porsha Williams will join as a full-time housewife along with newbie Kim Fields.
The official synopsis reads as follows:
Kandi and Todd receive exciting news during a visit with Dr. Jackie, while Cynthia discovers a video of Peter that's gone viral featuring him in a compromising position. Porsha's new and much younger boyfriend, Duke, comes to Atlanta for a romantic visit, and Phaedra adjusts to life as a single mom and contemplates a major decision regarding her marriage. Kenya's new house proves to be a real piece of work, and despite her personal problems, Cynthia throws a fabulous event to celebrate the launch of her eyewear line. At the party, plenty of "shade" is thrown when the return of Shereè quickly stirs things up among the ladies.
Although Nene Leakes announced her exit back in May from RHOA, Bravo has announced that the fan favorite lady will appear in a cameo in season 8. According to People, the 47-year-old reality TV star was spotted filming at the Moon Palace Jamaica Grande in Ochos Rios, where the RHOA ladies are enjoying a luxury vacation.
Although, Kim Fields is entering The Real Housewives of Atlanta after NeNe Leakes's exit, the actor maintains that she is not replacing Leakes. She told E!Online, "Ain't nobody replacing NeNe Leakes. No way, no way."
Fields also shared how she reacted when she was asked to join the Bravo series. "My first instinct was, 'Y'all know you called Kim Fields, right?...Am I being punk'd?' It was those kinds of moments of, 'Really?' when my agent first said, 'Hey we got this call to see if you're interested in doing this.'"
"They wanted who Kim is in this environment, and that was interesting to me," she added.
