Thames Valley Police have made several arrests in Portsmouth under the Terrorism Act Getty

A second man from Portsmouth has been charged with preparing acts of terrorism.

Mustakim Jaman, 23, of Hudson Road, Southsea has been charged under section five of the Terrorism Act 2006, the BBC reports.

He was one of several people arrested in Hampshire and London earlier this month by Thames Valley Police's South East Counter Terrorism Unit (SECTU). Jaman is due at at Westminster Magistrates' Court on Monday.

A 57-year-old man and a 48-year-old woman have been released on bail. A 23-year-old woman from Farnborough and a 29-year-old woman from Greenwich, south-east London, have been released without charge.

A police spokesman previously said the arrests were "in relation to conflicts overseas" and were "not linked to any immediate threat to local communities or anywhere else in the UK".

Tuhin Shahensha, 26, has also been charged. Shahensha, also of Hudson Road, will appear at the the Old Bailey to answer his charged on 14 November.
