Fox News Viewers Mock Trump After He Calls Himself a 'Perfectionist', Joke He Can't Blend Bronzer

Donald Trump was mocked by Fox News viewers after calling himself a 'perfectionist' during an interview with Trey Gowdy on Sunday Night in America on 30 August.

The 80-year-old president was discussing his second term and his plans for the 2026 midterm elections when he made the claim, prompting sarcastic reactions on social media.

Trump used the interview to discuss his plans to campaign heavily for Republican lawmakers during the midterms, saying he would approach the effort with the same intensity as his 2024 presidential campaign.

He also addressed the conflict in Iran and described the Middle Eastern state as a 'failing nation'.

Trump Calls Himself a 'Perfectionist' on Fox News

His description of himself as a 'perfectionist' then became a target for some online commenters.

'I'm a perfectionist. If I see a crooked line, if I see a corner that's not square, if I see something going on that isn't good, if I see dirt. That's one of the things I hate about the radical left: everything turns filthy, dirty, and then it goes to hell. And then the murders start, and the crimes start, and everything else,' Trump said.

He then linked his attitude towards cleanliness to his upbringing, telling Gowdy that his parents were 'very clean people' and 'very proud people'.

'I don't know if that's natural; I don't know if that's picked up. My parents were very clean people. They were very proud people. But, you know, I'm proud of this country. I want to see it fixed and made better,' he added.

Fox News Viewers Mock Trump's 'Perfectionist' Claim

Fox News viewers responded by turning Trump's self-description into a subject of ridicule. One person referred to his appearance, writing, 'Gurl can't even blend out her bronzer, but ok. Perfectionist.'

Another questioned the claim, posting, 'Come on, Fox. Everything he touches becomes a mess. Perfection, is it?' A third viewer asked, 'Can he even spell the word "Perfectionist?"'

The criticism also extended beyond the 'perfectionist' comment. Another viewer wrote, 'Except he is doing nothing for our country. He is filling the swamp, and the economy is tough for hardworking Americans.' A final commenter wrote, 'OMG! He messes up everything he touches. Delusional!'

The comments show that some of the social media reactions focused on Trump's use of the word 'perfectionist', while others used the moment to criticise his presidency.

Trump Also Takes Aim at Canada

Trump also criticised Canada in a Truth Social post, describing the country as 'the worst'. He pointed to a Ford factory in Detroit, claiming it had become 'one of the most profitable Car Plants in the World', and credited his tariff policies for the turnaround.

'That's because of what I've done with TARIFFS. One of the Worst Abusers is Canada. I don't want Canadian cars, I don't want Canadian parts, I don't want Canadian anything,' Trump wrote.

He added, 'They've been ripping us off for decades, and it's going to stop. This should have happened long ago with other Presidents, just as stopping Iran should have. They want to be treated like a State, but they aren't one. I deal with the Leadership of many Countries, but I find Canada to be the worst. They are entitled no longer!'
