The US President stepped into the Rose Garden on Monday sporting a deep, glowing hue to champion his administration's latest back-to-school initiatives. Anthony Scaramucci has now lifted the lid on the secret behind the legendary tan, claiming the president looks even worse without his daily cosmetics.

According to the interview, criticism from Scaramucci's mother, a make-up artist, resulted in an extraordinary revelation. Speaking to The Times, the former aide shared that she hates the cosmetics. He explained, 'It's like an orange bronzer he buys from a supply shop in the Bronx. He looks like an open can of Spam without make-up.'

The product develops a golden-brown or reddish-brown shade when fried, grilled or baked.

Speculation surrounding the skin tone of the businessman has circulated for decades. The president has previously addressed his critics by attributing his complexion to energy-efficient lightbulbs.

At a 2019 House Republican retreat dinner, he said: 'People said what's with the light bulb? I said here's the story, and I looked at it. The bulb that we're being forced to use, no.1, to me, most importantly, the light's no good. I always look orange.' That explanation has not prevented critics from bestowing upon him mocking nicknames, including 'Mango Mussolini' and 'Agent Orange'.

He was swiftly dismissed by Chief of Staff John Kelly, with the blessing of the president.

The news came after the president let slip his fury at outgoing press secretary Karoline Leavitt.

Having worked in close proximity, the former aide is positioned to discuss what the president is genuinely like in private. During his interview with The Times, he asserted that nobody he has encountered genuinely likes the man. He stated: 'I have yet to find a person that really likes Trump. Including all of his family members. Nobody likes him.'

He went on to reveal that his wife Deidre shares a similarly dim view, noting: 'My wife hates Trump almost as much as Melania. And if she was here, she would say more than Melania.'
