The Android 4.4.2 KitKat software update is now seeding for Samsung's 2013 flagship smartphones, Galaxy Note 3 and Galaxy S4 in the UK.

Following the roll-out of Android 4.4.2 update for Galaxy Note 3 earlier in January, Samsung had released a similar software update for the Galaxy S4 last month.

Now, Android Central reports Android 4.4.2 firmware update is available for the unlocked version of Galaxy Note 3 and Galaxy S4 in the UK (with region code BTU). Besides, the update is now available for some of the carrier variants.

The Android 4.4.2 software weighing in at 300-400MB brings several changes and improvements for the aforementioned Galaxy devices. It adds some subtle visual tweaks including white notification bar icons.

Other notable features are graphical changes, immersive mode, translucent notification bar in some apps, native cloud printing support and lock screen album art. The KitKat update is believed to have boosted the performance of the smartphones, while increasing the benchmark scores.

Those who have not received the update notification yet, navigate to Settings>> More>> About device>> Software update>> Update to download and install the new Android KitKat firmware via OTA. The update might take some time depending on the carrier network.
