"Sanogo is a good young signing for us. He has shown that he has potential with his recent performances for Auxerre and also for the France Under-20 side. We are looking forward to Yaya joining us and continuing his promising development," Wenger told www.arsenal.com.

The striker is currently with the France squad playing in the U20 World Cup in Turkey where he has scored two goals, helping his team qualify for the round of 16. The player will report at the Emirates after the tournament but is unlikely to travel with the senior team to Asia for pre-season.

The 20-year-old has been stricken with injuries over his career and has managed only 24 appearances thus far for Auxerre. However, he has made the most of his opportunities, scoring 11 goals thus far and is likely to improve further if allowed a consistent run without injuries.

Wilshere on Bayern Munich

Arsenal midfielder jack Wilshere has revealed that Bayern Munich are the strongest side he has faced in his career and their performance against the Gunners in their 3-1 win at the Emirates in the Champions League was testament to their progress. The North London club crashed out of Europe to the eventual champions last season but managed to restore some pride after beating the Bundesliga winners 2-0 at the Allianz Arena in the reverse fixture.

"Bayern is probably the best team I ever played against, even better than Barcelona. We knew they'd be difficult to break down, but tactically and physically, they were all over us in the first half. You don't expect that to happen at home and I can understand the fans' frustration. I think we won back their respect in the second half and then by beating them 2-0 away," Wilshere told ESPN.

On Wilshere being linked with a move to Bayern, he added," Obviously, I'm flattered. How can you not be? They're the best team in Europe, but I'm an Arsenal player and I just signed a new deal. So right now all I'm focusing on is the upcoming season."
