Battlefield 6 Release Date Leaked Ahead of Official Reveal — Pre-Order Details, Price, and Platforms Inside
An Open Beta has been confirmed, with clues pointing to when players might get their first taste

A significant leak has just hit the gaming world, seemingly revealing the highly anticipated release date for Battlefield 6 well before its official announcement.
The key details on pre-orders, pricing, and the platforms where to join the fight have also surfaced online.
Electronic Arts (EA) has unveiled the eagerly awaited first look at Battlefield 6.
Battlefield 6 Release Date and Cost
Reliable dataminer Billbil-kun reports that Battlefield 6 is set to launch on 10 October. Unlike previous titles in the franchise, players who pre-order the Deluxe Edition will not receive an early access period.

This leaked date aligns perfectly with comments from EA CEO Andrew Wilson in May, who confirmed the game's launch before March 2026. With GTA 6 no longer set for a Q4 release this year, and Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 rumoured for November, an October debut gives Battlefield 6 ample opportunity to capture the attention of players.
Also, IGN suggests Battlefield 6 will carry a $80 (£59.38) price tag. It is worth noting that EA has neither denied nor confirmed these speculations yet, meaning players should take this information with a grain of salt.
Battlefield 6 Pre-Order
According to Billbil-kun's report, pre-orders are expected to begin on 31 July. IGN suggests that players will discover today that early access will not be available regardless of the edition purchased – a departure from current industry trends.
Furthermore, owners of the standard edition will reportedly have the option to upgrade to the Phantom version at any point for $29.99 (£22.26).
Battlefield 6 Platforms
Unlike its main competitor, Call of Duty, Battlefield 6 is finally moving past older generation machines and will launch exclusively on current-generation consoles.
Battlefield recently posted a two-minute trailer on its official YouTube channel, offering players a glimpse of what the game will deliver across various platforms. Here are all the platforms where EA confirmed Battlefield 6 will be available:
- PlayStation 5
- Xbox Series X/S
- PC
Battlefield 6 Open Beta
Battlefield 6 underwent rigorous evaluation through the Battlefield Labs programme. This highly confidential playtest saw a select group of players invited to experience the game, with NDAs in place. Naturally, these pledges of secrecy were quickly broken by several participants, who began uploading gameplay footage to YouTube.
Open Weapons vs Closed Weapons

Why not both?
Starting at Open Beta players can choose official playlists with Signature Weapons locked to class, or not.
More to come.
Nonetheless, EA has confirmed that an Open Beta, expanding the playtest to all players, will be released at some point. They also stated that during the beta, players will have the freedom to choose between Battlefield's established class system, which ties weapons to specific character roles, or a weapon loadout system more akin to Call of Duty.
While they held back on confirming the playtest's exact start date, fortunately, the EA app provided that missing piece of information. Hawk-eyed Battlefield fans have noticed that the EA app on PC includes mentions of the BF6 beta, with a publication date set for 4 August 2025.
If this information is accurate, the open beta will likely be announced during the upcoming multiplayer reveal event, so it's worth keeping an eye out for that.
