Trump Aide Natalie Harp's Deleted Posts Show Her Urging Republicans To 'Fight for Trump' on January 6

Natalie Harp, a longtime aide to Donald Trump, published more than 150 posts on X on 6 January 2021 urging Republicans to 'fight for Trump' as a pro-Trump mob stormed the US Capitol, according to a review of her since-suspended account.

The review sets out the scale of loyalty within Trump's inner circle on the day Congress met to certify Joe Biden's election victory, a session that was violently interrupted after weeks in which Trump and his allies pushed unfounded claims that the 2020 election had been stolen.

Inside Aide's Day-Long Stream of Posts

Harp, then 29 and a host at One America News Network who described herself as a member of Trump's 'advisory board', amplified messages from the Trump family that morning declaring the movement would 'never, ever die'. She described rallygoers awaiting Trump's speech as 'patriots' and urged Republican lawmakers to match the crowd's fervour, telling followers 'today we STOP THE STEAL!'

When Rudy Giuliani told the assembled crowd to pursue 'trial by combat', Harp relayed the remark to her own followers. Giuliani's lawyers later said the phrase was hyperbolic rather than a literal call to violence.

As Trump addressed the crowd, Harp posted a single message repeating 'FIGHT FOR TRUMP!' roughly a dozen times, declaring Washington 'TRUMP COUNTRY' that day, and later live-posted lines from his speech, including his vow never to concede.

Neither Harp nor representatives for Trump responded to media requests for comment, and neither has publicly disputed the network's findings.

Weeks of Posts Building to 6 January

The review found Harp had echoed Trump's false stolen-election claims for weeks beforehand. Days after networks called the race for Biden, she posted a message thanking '71 million' Trump voters. On 14 December, when the Electoral College formally confirmed Biden's victory, she wrote: 'THIS IS A COUP.'

She had also promoted the 6 January certification session in advance, telling followers weeks earlier that the date was approaching and that truth was 'on our side'. Her devotion to Trump predated the election dispute, and during his first impeachment in 2019 she quoted scripture calling on God to vindicate him.

David B. Cohen, a political science professor at the University of Akron who studies the presidency, told media that Harp had shown herself to be an intensely loyal aide who reveres Trump rather than questioning him, a trait he said the former president values highly in those around him.

Response as Capitol Was Breached

After rioters breached the Capitol, Harp shifted her focus but not her allegiance, sharing posts falsely denying that the mob were Trump supporters and claiming Antifa activists had infiltrated the crowd. She later shared Trump's recorded appeal for people to go home, while also amplifying Giuliani's suggestion that the delay had created further legal options for the president.

Overnight, she praised Republicans who continued to object to Biden's certification, including Representative Jody Hice, Senator Josh Hawley and Senator Ted Cruz, describing them as patriots who had not wavered.

After the House rejected a challenge to Arizona's results, Harp wrote that America 'may not be America anymore.' The following day, after Trump acknowledged a transition of power was coming, she reposted his message describing the moment as the start of a new journey, adding shortly afterwards: 'We love you, President @realDonaldTrump!'
