Asda customers were left outraged when the man, wearing what resembled a black SS uniform entered the store.

A shopper was evicted from a supermarket after he was spotted wandering the aisles dressed in full Nazi uniform.

Customers were left horrified after the man, wearing what appeared to be a black SS uniform with cap and red armband, visited the Asda store in Cambridge.

He was asked to leave after the manager of the Beehive Centre branch following a number of complaints.

Rosina Rusin, 60, from Milton, told the Cambridge News: "I was waiting in a queue when a lady came up and she was really quite distressed about it.

"People's mouths were falling open. You are not going to come out like that unless you want to draw attention to yourself."

Hayley Dunn tweeted: "Just saw a man dressed up as a Nazi officer covered in swastikas in Cambridge Asda! That is not cool man, not cool #badcostume."

Police were called to the incident but by the time they arrived the man had left of his own accord.

It is unclear whether it was a Halloween prank.

A spokeswoman for Asda said: "We had a number of customer complaints so we asked him to leave the store."
