The alleged photo posted on X corresponds with a witness account that the man 'was in our pictures'

A fatal fall from Six Flags Over Georgia's Goliath roller coaster was allegedly captured in a souvenir ride photo. A witness told 11Alive that the man 'hit the car' three times before the fatal fall.
The incident happened shortly before 4pm on Monday, 12 October, at the park in Mableton, Georgia. Cobb County Police confirmed one person died and several others were injured. Witnesses reported seeing a man fall from the roller coaster car.
Incident Allegedly Captured in Souvenir Photo
A photo circulating on X has been claimed to show the moment the man fell from Goliath, appearing to capture a rider falling from the roller coaster. The image has not been independently authenticated. However, its apparent contents correspond with an account given by a witness who told 11Alive that the man appeared in their souvenir pictures during the incident.
Police have not publicly confirmed whether the photograph forms part of their investigation, meaning it should be treated as an alleged image rather than confirmed evidence of the fatal fall.

Witness Says Victim 'Hit the Car' Three Times
'He was in our pictures,' one witness told 11Alive. 'He fell and hit the car three different times.' The witness said the man then fell towards a structure below the ride. Another couple who were riding nearby also said they saw the man fall. According to the outlet, the witnesses were riding in a coaster car behind the man and said he fell from a car ahead of theirs.
The couple also said workers checked their safety harnesses before the ride began. The precise circumstances of the fall have not been established by authorities, and officials have not said what caused the man to leave the coaster car.
Goliath Riders Evacuated After Fatal Incident
Goliath was stopped on an incline following the incident, leaving riders on the track as emergency crews responded. Four people were reportedly injured, and riders were evacuated from the coaster four at a time. Footage from the scene showed passengers being helped down a staircase from the elevated ride.

Six Flags said it was 'deeply saddened by the guest incident' and offered condolences to the man's family, friends and loved ones. 'The park team and local authorities responded immediately, and we are cooperating fully with local authorities as they complete their investigation,' the company said. The park also said it was providing support to guests and team members affected by the incident.
Police Investigate Six Flags Death
Cobb County Police said officers assigned to the park and uniformed patrol officers responded to the scene. Detectives from the department's Major Crimes Unit are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death.
The victim's identity has not been publicly released. Police have also not announced a cause of death or said whether there was any mechanical problem with the ride.
Six Flags has temporarily closed nine roller coasters at six parks 'out of an abundance of caution.' The precautionary closures do not establish that a ride malfunction caused the Georgia incident.
