Billboard magazine has named Taylor Swift as the biggest money-maker in the US in 2011.

That did come as a surprise, after Adele's album stole the numero uno position throughout the year, creating 6.7 million sales in the US alone and 18 million worldwide. Even though Taylor did not release any album in 2011, her "Speak Now" from 2010 made the impact. Along with that her world tour gave her a whopping $88.5 million in the US, according to Zee News.

U2 came second and Kenny Chesney third respectively. The 22-year-old singer topped Billboard's 40 biggest music money-makers' list.

According to the China Daily, "The list was compiled by the music magazine's editors using data from Boxscore archives of US concert gross figures, Nielsen SoundScan data for album and single sales on physical and digital platforms, and Nielsen BDS data on musical airplay on radio, downloads and online streaming sites such as Spotify."

Taylor Swift is one of the few celebrities to have more than 29 million fans on Facebook and over 11 million fans on Twitter.
