OFT considering Asda offer to sell 47 stores

The Office of Fair Trading has said that it is considering an offer by Asda to sell 47 Netto stores in order to resolve concerns about local competition raised by Asda's proposed takeover of 194 Netto grocery stores.

The workforce and concern over cuts

The Office of National Statistics has just published a batch of figures on the UK's workforce, nearly coinciding with the Friday, 16 July's submission to The Treasury by most government departments of their proposed budget cuts.
