2K Games has unveiled the first batch of roster additions for WWE 2K17 coming in paid-DLC packs. Current WWE Superstars Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows (a.k.a. The Club) and NXT's Austin Aries headline the crop of Superstars from the modern era being released post-launch, while the late, great, Eddie Guerrero stands out as the marquee addition in the Legends category.

Update: 2K Games has detailed WWE 2K17's downloadable content in full, including the extras available in the game's Season Pass and the Digital Deluxe editions. The content packages will begin releasing following the game's October launch, with some dated for early 2017.

UK pricing has yet to be confirmed, however the Season Pass is listed as $29.99 (£23.10, €26.89) for the US market.

Alongside the usual Accelerator, New Moves, MyPlayer Kick Start packs and the previously confirmed NXT-flavoured content, 2K Games also detailed 2K17's Showcase mode, which will offer "match-driven content based on the WWE Hall of Fame Class of 2016".

Below is the full list of confirmed DLC content as per the WWE 2K Games website (original article continues below):

The newly revealed selection of playable wrestlers were teased during the 21 September episode of SmackDown Live, with official artwork later posted by WWE 2K Games' official Twitter account.

Other notable additions include two of Charles Wright's in-ring personas, Papa Shango and The Godfather, Mojo Rawley (who can now team-up with Zack Ryder in-game as the Hype Bros) and Von Erich family members Kevin and Kerry. Michael Hayes, Jimmy Garvin and Buddy Roberts are also included, representing the legendary southern tag-team The Fabulous Freebirds.

While already boasting the largest ever roster in a WWE video game, 2K Games has filled in a fair few of the more notable gaps with the latest set of reveals. Pricing and release dates for the DLC have yet to be confirmed.

2K Games also recently released a trailer showcasing some of the updates to WWE 2K17's MyCareer mode. Starring and narrated by legendary manager Paul Heyman, the trailer gives fans a glimpse at the mode's new features such as the promo engine and backstage brawls. It also teases a major rivalry with 2K17's cover star, the all-conquering beast, Brock Lesnar.

WWE 2K17 is set for release on Xbox One, PS4, Xbox 360 and PS3 on 11 October 2016.
