British boxer Amir Khan has said that a win over Devon Alexander in Las Vegas will open the door for a showdown with five division world champion Floyd Mayweather.

The 28-year-old said he was not looking beyond his 'tough' bout with Alexander on Saturday, but acknowledged that the victor will be in a prime position to face the undefeated Mayweather in 2015.

Khan also said that if he were to take on Mayweather, Wembley stadium, the home of the England national football team, would be a spectacular venue for such a fight.

Saturday's clash will be Khan's first fight since defeating veteran American Luis Collazo in his welterweight debut in May.
