BET's Terrance Jenkins has confirmed that he will replace Ryan Seacrest permanently as the new co-host of E! News.

The 30-year-old 106 and Park presenter, formerly known as Terrence J, revealed the news to fans by posting a snap of him and his co-anchor, Giuliana Rancic, on his Instragram page.

The snap shows the Think Like a Man actor dressed in a suit posing beside Rancic at the E! Studios.

"I've always had a passion for the wide spectrum of pop culture that E! News covers so well; I can't wait to get started," Jenkins said in a statment.

"I've had a great career so far, and it¹s all been building toward this. And then getting to work with great people like Giuliana and the entire E! News team just makes this seem like an even more perfect opportunity."

Jenkins, who announced his departure from BET's 106 and Park after seven years in May, is due to start his new job in November.

"Terrence Jenkins is a talented and well-connected television personality who will bring an original sensibility to our news programs," E!'s President of Network Strategy, Cyndi McClellan said of his appointment.

"His energy and engaging personality, coupled with E! News Lead Anchor Giuliana Rancic's proven experience, should help cement E! News' stature as the leading source for news across pop culture, delivered to an engaged audience on all platforms."

Seacrest left his role at the anchor desk back due to his busy schedule which includes American Idol, and his daily radio morning show.

He will move into a managing editor role on the E! news show.
