British singer Cheryl Cole has a history of wearing white to Cannes and made sure she continued that tradition this year. Cole wore white again, when she appeared for day five of the 2012 Cannes Film Festival; this time, though, she added a "feather" to her gown.

The pop singer was wearing a white Stéphane Rolland Haute Couture, the train of which was made of vibrantly red feathers. She arrived at the red carpet for the screening of the French film Amour by director Michael Haneke. The film is in competition at the Festival.

Cole's low-backed gown and its ruffled feathers sashaying on the red carpet lent itself perfectly to its surroundings, allowing the 28 year old to make a dramatic appearance as she waved to the crowd and posed for photographers. The singer let her long brunette hair loose and wavy and complimented her ensemble with diamond and ruby-studded accessories.

This is not the first time Cole has captivated the crowd and stolen the limelight at Cannes by wearing something outlandishly stylish in white.

She wore a cross-back, double side slit white dress for the screening of Hors La Loi (Outside the Law), which was in competition during the 63rd Cannes Film Festival in May 2010, while donning a full-sleeved ultra-low neck white gown for the screening of Habemus Papam (We Have A Pope), which was in competition at the 64th Cannes Film Festival last year.

Meanwhile, this year, Cole walked the red carpet at the Cannes Film Festival 2012 as a brand ambassador for cosmetics brand L'Oreal. Before walking the red carpet she tweeted: "About to walk the red carpet for @LOrealParisUK. It's raining lol. #Cannes2012," she wrote at ‏@CherylCole.
