Fans of Erykah Badu that missed out on the rare opportunity to see the neo-soul songstress live in London after tickets sold out in minutes, on 31 March, will be happy to hear that all is not lost. The 46-year-old star has responded to the huge demand by adding another date to her UK jaunt.

The On & On hitmaker, born Erica Abi Wright, will now be playing the Eventim Apollo in Hammersmith on 6 and 7 July 2017. She is expected to perform at 10pm.

The set of gigs will coincide with the 20th anniversary of her debut album Baduizm, which spawned hits including On & On, Appletree and Next Lifetime.

The record peaked at number two on the Billboard 200 and went three times platinum after selling 159,000 copies in its first week of release.

It went on to win two – out of the four – Grammy awards it was nominated for that year including Best R&B Album.

Fans can get their hands on the coveted tickets for the second date when they go on sale at 9am on 5 April.

Badu last took to stage for her headline set at South By Southwest Festival in Austin, Texas on 14 March. Other acts included Solange Knowles, Garth Brooks and The Roots.
