Lady Gaga is all set to launch a social networking site for celebrities called Backplane, with her own website Little Monster in action to connect with fans.

The site is currently in beta mode and fans can request an invite to "be among the first to experience a new community only for Little Monsters. Because you were born this way!"

Little Monsters will be a new online community for Lady Gaga and her fans, but Backplane has much bigger ambitions: it aims to help power community sites for a wide range of interest groups, covering everything from celebrities to niche topics, reported TechCrunch.

Backplane would be a platform for celebrities to interact with their fans intimately unlike other social networking sites and hopes to include pages created by fans.

"I'm all about starting this movement. I love technology and love good design. We definitely have an amazing opportunity here to have millions of users - the most number of users per employee. We are going to be bigger than Facebook and Google some day," Business Insider reported Backplane co-founder Joey Primiani as saying.
