The TV Choice Awards took place September 13 at the Savoy Hotel in central London, and many soap starts came out to dazzle on the red carpet.

Eastenders was the big winner on the night scooping a hat trick of awards including best soap, and stars Shane Richie and Jessie Wallace, who play husband and wife Alfie and Kat Moon in the show, won best soap actor and actress respectively.

TheBest Soap Storyline award went to Coronation Streetin recognition of their 50th anniversary tram crash disaster episode and Weatherfield's new recruit Paula Lane (Kylie Platt) was named Best Soap Newcomer.

Doctor Who also won big on the night, winning Best Family Drama beating fantasy drama Merlin, Casualty and Waterloo Road.

Former Doctor Who actor David Tennant was named Best Actor for Single Father beating Matt Smith, Colin Morgan and Benedict Cumberbatch.

Celebrity Juiceon ITV2 was named Best Entertainment Show beating BBC One'sQIand The GrahamNorton Show and Sky1's An Idiot Abroad.
