Country music icon Garth Brooks is preparing to walk his daughter down the aisle after she got engaged at one of his concerts.

Allie Colleen Brooks marked her 21st birthday by providing backup vocals for her superstar dad at his gig at Los Angeles' Forum. After the duo belted out some of his biggest hits including Friends in Low Places and The Thunder Rolls in front of a packed crowd he paused the show to get the audience to sing "Happy Birthday" to his little girl.

While the heartwarming moment was pretty special, what happened afterwards was definitely the highlight of her night.

When Alliee, who is Brooks' youngest daughter with first wife, songwriter Sandy Mahl, returned backstage her boyfriend Jonathan Roberts was waiting in the wings to ask a very important question.

In footage posted online, Roberts can be seen getting down on one knee and proposing as her Brooks' performance of She's Every Woman provided the perfect soundtrack. Fans may recall that Allie covered the same track in a video posted in January, which has since garnered over 320,000 views.

A clearly stunned Allie becomes overwhelmed with emotion but manages to keep her composure to accept the marriage proposal.

Roberts, who teaches physical education at George Whitten Elementary School in Hendersonville, Tenn, later took to Facebook to share his excitement over the engagement, writing: "Wow!! LA was incredible. It's definitely gonna be one to remember from 2 amazing concerts to jet skiing 40 miles up and down the coast. We Celebrated Allie Brooks birthday!!

He added: "Also she said YES!!!! I'm beyond blessed to have this beautiful woman in my life.
She's anything but typical. She's so unpredictable.

Brooks, who is worth an estimated $310m (£243m), will continue the North American leg of his comeback world tour with shows in South Dakota and Canada.
