Fifty objects, used in various James Bond films over the past 50 years, are to be auctioned by Christie's. The auction marks the fiftieth anniversary of the hugely popular and successful spy film series, based on a fictional character, with the code 007, created by author Ian Fleming. The first film in the series, Dr No, was released in 1962.

Of the items to be auctioned, 40 are available only via online bids and bidding closes on 8 October. The remaining ten lots will be at an invitation-only sale. The proceeds from both auctions will go to UNICEF's charity work, Christie's indicated.

The Bond memorabilia to be auctioned includes a collection of Hotel Fontainebleau props used in Goldfinger (1964) - these consist of an ashtray, a gin rummy score card and notepaper with letterheads; the belt with a golden bullet buckle worn by Sir Christopher Lee (in his role as Scaramanga) in The Man With The Golden Gun (1974); and a pair of enamel cufflinks worn by Chaim Topol (as Milos Columbo) in For Your Eyes Only (1981). These are expected to fetch between £1,000 and £2,500.

Apart from the props, dresses and accessories by various Bond girls will also be auctioned. These include the black Prada dress worn by Olga Kurylenko (as Camille Montes) in Quantum of Solace (2008) and the Algerian Love Knot necklace worn by Eva Green (as Vesper Lynd) in Casino Royale (2006). The necklace was designed by Lindy Hemming and Sophie Harley and is expected to fetch between £2,000 and £3,000. Incidentally, the necklace was also worn by Stana Katic (as Corrine) in Quantum of Solace.

Finally, you can also get your hands on Bond's two-piece charcoal wool suit by Brioni... the same one worn by Pierce Brosnan in The World is Not Enough (1999). The suit is expected to sell in the same price range as the Algerian necklace. And for fans of Daniel Craig, the British actor who has played Bond in the last three installments (including Skyfall (2012)), they can bid on a pair of Tom Ford sunglasses from Quantum of Solace, for roughly the same price as Brosnan's suit.
