After years of waiting, gamers who have been eagerly awaiting Grand Theft Auto VI (GTA VI) will finally get their wish. The latest game installment from Take-Two is set to be released in November 2026, although there are still a lot of questions in the air.

At the top of the list is how much GTA VI will cost. That concern was addressed by Take-Two Interactive CEO Strauss Zelnick, who appeared on The Game Business opposite Christopher Dring.

Zelnick and Dring discussed interstitial advertising in a game, with the Take-Two CEO mentioning it would be unfair for someone paying between $70 (£52) and $80 (£60) to play the game. Although his statements were general in nature, fans now speculate that GTA VI will likely cost at most $80 (£60).

'It's difficult for me to believe that we would want to have interstitial advertising in a game that someone paid 70 or 80 bucks for, as that would seem unfair,' Zelnick said in that discussion.

If the projected price of GTA VI holds, it appears to be reasonable. Considering Grand Theft Auto V cost $59.99 (£44.81) was back in 2013, the price hike doesn't appear to be a burden to anyone's pocket.

Gamers Divided On GTA VI Price

With the price of GTA VI most likely to be in that mark mentioned by Zelnick, it is hardly surprising that the opinion of gamers is divided. Some understood that pricing standards have changed and increased through the years, so seeing GTA VI following that trend is hardly surprising.

However, there were others who looked at it differently. One called it a fair price but cautioned that it could set a precedent that other game developers could follow.

'Problem is, $80 might be a fair price for GTA 6. But other game companies will get a free pass to increase their pricing to $80 too,' a user with the handle GTAssassin said on X.

On Reddit, the price range was hardly surprising for zedanger, who mentioned how video games had always been expensive since the 80s, 90s and 2000s.

'Buying videogames in the 80s, 90s, and early 2000s was not cheap. $50 USD was a lot more money back then than it is today,' he said.

Yet New Set of Leaks

With the release date and possible price of GTA VI now out, the next thing gamers would want to know is just how good Grand Theft Auto VI will really be. So far, leaks have been the source of teasers of things to come. There have been several coming out, although it would be best to take them with a grain of salt.

One of the latest leaks comes allegedly straight from one of the game developers. Spotted by another Reddit user on the developer's LinkedIn account, there was the alleged next-generation procedural breakable glass system for vehicles and props.

According to Rockstar Intel, the vehicle glass breaking on GTA V was already good so something better is anticipated for GTA VI. Moreover, the fact that the developer holds an integral part in designing the tools used to capture in-game footage hints at expecting better graphics once the game is officially launched and released.

Unless setbacks arise in the next couple of months, Grand Theft Auto VI appears to be well on its way to coming out on 19 November 2026. The months preceding that release should render more leaks, something that should further wet the appetite of folks who have been waiting for this GTA installment.
