More drama is in store for Karen Kim, April Malloy and Joss Carver as Mistresses returns with its one-hour season 4 premiere on 30 May at 10pm EST on ABC Network. The premiere episode is titled, The New Girls.

The official synopsis for episode one reads as follows:

In The New Girls, it's a year from the night Joss encountered a dangerous Wilson and has to re-live the painful memory while testifying in court in his murder trial. Despite moving in together, Marc hasn't found a steady job, and April worries Lucy is growing up too fast. Karen is adjusting to motherhood while her attractive male nanny (guest star Jerry O'Connell) makes a seemingly unwarranted advance. Meanwhile, Harry and Joss take the next step in their relationship, but trouble may be ahead as Joss isn't quite healed from her past.

Season 4 will pick up a year after the events of season 3 finale, wherein Wilson held Joss at gunpoint, and uttered, "Where you goin', lovely?"

Joss will testify at Wilson's trial, as the first episode of the new season will see her taking the next step in her relationship with Harry.

Another romance is set to begin with actor David Sutcliffe being roped in to play Karen Kim's love interest in season four. According to a report in TV Line, Sutcliffe has been cast in a major recurring role as Adam. His character has been described as "an extremely handsome, charming and confident suitor with sparking eyes — the kind of fella who gets his fair share of stares when he walks in a room".

Adam will begin dating Karen "after connecting with her on an online dating site — or so he thinks", the report said. Also, Jerry O'Connell will guest star as Karen's attractive male nanny in the episode.
