No.5 Florence Welch
No.5 Florence Welch NME Official Site

It was a wonderful night.

The annual NME Awards at the O2 Academy saw performances from Florence and the Time Machine, Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds, Kasabian, The Vaccines and The Maccabees.

Florence + The Machine won two awards when it came time to hand them out and Noel Gallagher was declared Godlike Genius.

"I'm really incredibly grateful. It is slightly strange because I've never been quite sure myself about whether I'm a solo act or a band," Florence was quoted as saying in TNT Magazine, adding, "I've always thought of it as a project that I've started."

Meanwhile, the Foo Fighters won Best International Band and The Vaccines the Best New Band.
