A trans woman from Cheshire has been sentenced to prison for stalking and threatening the surgeon who carried out her gender reassignment surgery in 2021, following a string of unwanted messages and visits that led to her arrest.

Vivienne Taylor, 28, of Wirral, pleaded guilty at Isleworth Crown Court to stalking, causing serious alarm or distress. Judge Giles Curtis-Raleigh sentenced her to 14 months in prison and issued an indefinite restraining order, prohibiting Taylor from going near the surgeon and victim, Dr Tina Rashid, at her home or workplace, per GB News.

Threats and Unannounced Appearances at Work

Court documents showed that Taylor repeatedly messaged Dr Rashid via email, visited her hospital without appointments but pretending to have them, and sent threatening messages. One message in November reportedly stated, 'I am going to find you and your partner and when I do I will hold both of you to account.'

The message also contained threat of harming both Dr Rashid and her partner, 'I am going to batter both of you evil c**** and make you suffer. When I find your partner, Tina, I am going to s*** him.' Despite being arrested, the harassment reportedly continued.

After her 2021 gender reassignment surgery, Taylor had sought follow-up care, noting that it only had to be with Dr Rashid. She began making repeated attempts to contact the surgeon, including through LinkedIn and other channels, and made claims about hospital appointments that did not exist, according to a report by The Sun.

Repeated Personal Disruptions

Dr Rashid told the court that Taylor's actions had caused significant disruption to her daily life, requiring changes to her routines and additional security measures. An impact statement read to the court stated, 'I have had to change my behaviour and carry a personal safety alarm.'

She also told the court she is overcome by 'anxiety most nights,' noting she has had to take costly Ubers to work. 'The work I do is sensitive, and I am very worried that people will get the wrong impression about my patient group,' the surgeon stated.

The judge emphasised that the threats and unwanted contact were taken seriously and had a real impact on the surgeon's life.

Repeated Contact and Threats Detailed in Court

Following Taylor's gender reassignment surgery in 2021, she was discharged from Chelsea and Westminster Hospital; Dr Rashid performs surgeries for trans women.

However, according to Prosecutor Jonathan Bryan, Taylor returned to London following self-inflicted complications after her gender reassignment surgery and demanded treatment from Dr Rashid, reportedly threatening self-harm if her request was not met. The prosecutor said, 'The defendant was insisting that she be treated by the same surgeon. She threatened to kill herself if she wasn't dealt with by that surgeon.'

After being banned from seeing the surgeon, Taylor moved away from London, but resumed contact last year, sending spam emails and attempting to connect with Dr Rashid in March. Court proceedings revealed that Taylor then repeatedly appeared at the hospital.

Mr Bryan told the court that Taylor continued requesting care from Dr Rashid's team and falsely claimed appointments five more times. On 2 November, Taylor sent the threatening emails. The court heard that Taylor had returned to London after escaping domestic abuse and had a history of mental health struggles.

Passing sentence, Judge Curtis-Raleigh noted, 'Dr Rashid has clearly been affected, in my judgement, in every aspect of her life.'
