Woman Found Dead at Reading's Madejski Stadium

A police investigation is under way after a woman was found dead at Reading's Madejski Stadium, having suffered serious head injuries.

The 22-year-old was found dead at the bottom of a stairway in the early hours of 22 December at the Millennium Madejski Hotel, which forms part of the Premier League football ground.

The woman had suffered serious head injuries and she was pronounced dead at the scene. Her family have been informed but she has not been formally identified.

DI Phil O'Neil of Thames Valley Police said: "The woman had been attending a Christmas party at the time of the incident.

"We are treating her death as unexplained and there are a number of enquiries taking place to establish the full circumstances of what happened.

"No one has been arrested in connection with this incident."

Peter Krijgsman, spokesman for Millennium and Copthorne Hotels, said: "Our sympathies go out to the individual's family, friends, and colleagues.

"We are doing everything we can to help the police with their investigation at the scene and offering counselling to any staff affected."
