Take Me Out contestant Aaron Withers has been unveiled as a £50-an-hour escort.

The humble bachelor did not tell producers of the ITV Saturday night dating show that he was working for an escort agency before his recent appearance on the programme.

On his profile on the Platinum Select escort agency website, Aaron claims he has "an awesome personality" and "never struggles to hold down a conversation".

He says he is willing to entertain mature clients at their home or hotel and is more than happy to travel internationally for the job.

He charges £50 for an hour, £100 for two, £500 for an overnight stay and £1,500 for an entire weekend.

Withers, from Frome, Somerset, did not impress too many of the women on the show, most of whom turned off their lights to show no interest.

Withers said of his other life: "It seemed like easy money to fund surf trips when I first came to London, just a bit of fun. I was really skint and needed to earn cash."

A Take Me Out spokesperson said: "Aaron signed up to the Platinum Select website in 2006 for a six-month period to try and make some money. He did not declare it to us when he applied to the series."

ITV said: "We are disappointed his record was not picked up in checks by TalkbackThames, the producers of Take Me Out."

Talkback said it would review procedures.
