It appears as though the two spooning bananas Meghan Markle posted on Instagram had a profound significance after all. Prince Harry has reportedly spent the last week with his new lover in Toronto, Canada, after the news of their romance broke on Sunday 30 October.

Contrary to the previous report that cited Harry cancelled his flight to the Canadian city in fears of being caught by the waiting paparazzi on both sides of the pond, it emerged last night (2 November) that the 32-year-old prince has indeed flown out to see his girlfriend.

It is also understood that as the couple's six-month relationship has got "extremely serious" according to sources, the 35-year-old American actress has been introduced to Harry's father, Prince Charles in a "low-key" meeting when she visited the UK a few weeks ago.

She has also met her boyfriend's cousin, Princess Eugenie – who introduced Harry to his former girlfriend Cressida Bonas, according to the Daily Mail.

And there is another royal link as Eugenie is also acquainted with Old Etonian Alexander Gilkes – whose fashion designer wife, Misha Nonoo, is said to have introduced Markle to the prince.

If Harry introduced the Suits actress to the Queen – which will presumably not be on the cards any time soon – it would suggest that the relationship would end in marriage.

The redheaded royal apparently flew out to visit divorcee Markle last Thursday (27 October) – just hours after undertaking a series of official engagements in Nottingham.

Since then, a Canadian gossip columnist Shinan Govani of thestar.com, said the new couple stepped out together in public over the weekend. They were said to have attended a Halloween party at Soho private members club in Toronto on Saturday night. Govani claims that the prince – complete with black SUVs – has been in the Dupont Street area of Toronto, where Markle lives.

Another report from US Weekly claimed that Harry flew into Toronto Pearson Airport on a commercial flight on October 28 and was whisked to the actress' home in a waiting car.

The prince is still believed to be in Canada after the press were told that he was a "no show" for his British Airways flight to Toronto on 30 October. It makes sense for the prince to join his girlfriend at this time because he has no public engagements in his diary until next Thursday.

There have been many stories circulating about Markle since news of the romance reached the press, and has come under fire from her half-sister, Samantha Grant, who accuses her of failing to support her family. She has also claimed Prince Harry would be "appalled by what she's done".
