Kate Middleton, carrying her son Prince George and accompanied by Prince William, touched down in Sydney in a shining yellow dress.

The Duchess who arrived at Sydney airport on Wednesday wore a radiant yellow dress by London-based Serbian fashion designer Roksanda Ilincic.

The dress was Kate's honour to the nation as yellow is one of the national colours of Australia.

It's been a royal tradition of honouring a host country by incorporating its national emblem or colour into an outfit. During her visit to New Zealand, the Duchess honoured the nation by wearing a black evening dress embroidered with silver ferns. The colour black and the silver fern are symbols of New Zealand.
