Sarah Ferguson Allegedly 'Couch-Surfing' as Mystery Surrounds 'Suitcase' Life After Andrew-Epstein Scandal
The Duchess of York's whereabouts remain uncertain as she navigates life after the royal scandal.

Sarah Ferguson's whereabouts remain unclear after OK! reported on March 13 that the Duchess of York had dropped from public view following former Prince Andrew's arrest on Feb. 19 and a January stay at a wellness clinic in Switzerland.
The immediate claim is straightforward. Sarah Ferguson is said to be moving quietly between private addresses in Europe and beyond, though much of that account rests on unnamed insiders rather than public confirmation.
The latest report follows a bruising series of developments around Andrew, who the magazine said was arrested on suspicion of misconduct in public office, held for 11 hours and then released while the investigation continued.
The same report said Andrew had already been stripped of his royal titles in October 2025 amid the fallout from the Jeffrey Epstein scandal and removed from Royal Lodge, where Ferguson had been living with him since 2008. Much of what follows comes from off-the-record briefings and reported movements, so nothing is confirmed and all details should be treated with caution.
Sarah Ferguson Out of Sight
What can be confirmed is limited. OK! said Ferguson's last public appearance was in December 2025 at the christening of Princess Beatrice's daughter Athena, while a separate report from the same outlet said there were no released photographs from that ceremony and described her last confirmed sighting as Sept. 25, 2025, when she was driven away from Royal Lodge in Windsor.
That discrepancy does not alter the broader picture, but it matters because it shows how hazy the public record has become around someone who was once rarely far from a camera.

The magazine also said Ferguson spent time in January at a wellness clinic in Switzerland to 'recharge and reevaluate her next steps.' Another OK! report identified that retreat as the Paracelsus Recovery Clinic in Zurich and said she stayed there for part of the winter before travelling onwards.
Even here, the details feel less confirmed than suggested, which often happens when celebrity coverage relies on private itineraries that nobody is prepared to confirm on the record.
The Royal Lodge Fallout
The housing question sits at the centre of the story. According to OK!, Ferguson was forced out of Royal Lodge after Andrew's eviction, while Andrew moved into a smaller home on the Sandringham Estate in Norfolk. Earlier reports cited by the magazine suggested she could stay with Princess Beatrice, 37, or Princess Eugenie, 35, but her next permanent address remained unknown.
That is where the more dramatic language begins. Several insiders told the magazine Ferguson had been 'living out of suitcases for months' and relying on the generosity of friends because she did not have 'a permanent place she can comfortably call home.'

It is a striking image, almost too neat, but it portrays a woman not as a royal fixture but as someone moving quickly, keeping a low profile and trying not to be found.
The 'Suitcase' Claims
The account becomes more detailed and fragile from there. OK! said Ferguson had reportedly travelled through the French Alps, the United Arab Emirates and Florida before returning to Europe, and had sometimes joined trips her daughters were already making for work or personal reasons. One insider told the magazine that arrangement allowed her to remain close to family while keeping 'a relatively low profile.'

There is also a darker note in the reporting. OK! linked the renewed scrutiny to Ferguson's past appearances in Department of Justice files released earlier this year and to the continuing fallout from Epstein, with one acquaintance saying she felt 'totally overwhelmed' by the attention and had been 'very depressed.'

Another source said she understood she could not disappear indefinitely and would eventually need to 're-engage with work' and find a financial path forward, but for now the magazine's most telling detail may be the simplest one, that she often lets people know where she was only after she has already left.
