Princess Beatrice and Eugenie Allegedly 'In Competition' as Andrew Scandal Threatens Their Royal Family Future
Beatrice and Eugenie are allegedly distancing themselves from each other amid renewed scrutiny of their parents

Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie are allegedly competing for professional opportunities as they seek greater independence amid renewed scrutiny of their parents' associations with Jeffrey Epstein.
The sisters are reportedly pursuing separate paths as they seek to protect their families' futures and strengthen their professional networks. The alleged rivalry has not been independently verified, and there is no confirmed indication that either princess faces changes to her royal titles or place in the line of succession.
Why Princess Beatrice and Eugenie Are Reportedly Competing for Opportunities
According to a report in Closer, an unnamed source claims the sisters want to establish identities that are less closely tied to their parents, Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor and Sarah Ferguson.
The insider claims their husbands, Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi and Jack Brooksbank, are helping them explore opportunities through their professional connections.
'The unfortunate reality is that they're both fighting for the futures of their own respective families so, whether either of them wants to acknowledge it or not, they are in competition with each other,' the source said.
The same source claimed: 'There's a lot at stake right now, they're both fighting to hang on to their place within the monarchy and that pressure has definitely got them feeling competitive.'
However, the account also says the sisters love each other and attributes some of their reduced time together to busy family lives. Separate careers, networks and households do not, on their own, demonstrate a personal falling-out.
Neither princess has publicly confirmed the alleged competition or said that concerns about her royal standing are driving her professional decisions.
What the Report Claims About Prince William's Future Reign
The same report claims the sisters are worried about what might happen when Prince William becomes king, including whether they could lose invitations to Royal Ascot or Christmas celebrations at Sandringham, or face changes to their accommodation.
Those are alleged concerns attributed to the sisters, not evidence of announced decisions or plans by William.
Their titles, succession positions, accommodation and participation in family gatherings are separate matters. An invitation to a private Christmas celebration is not the same as an official royal duty.
Both sisters have young families. Beatrice and Edoardo share daughters Sienna and Athena, while Eugenie and Jack have sons August and Ernest and a daughter, Adelaide, born on 3 August 2026.
The source links the alleged competition to a desire to protect those families. Their family circumstances, however, do not independently establish the motives behind their career choices.
How Andrew and Sarah Ferguson's Epstein Connections Affect Their Daughters
Scrutiny of Andrew and Ferguson provides the context for the report, but it does not substantiate claims about their daughters' relationship.
Andrew, formerly Prince Andrew, lost his royal titles in 2025. He was arrested on 19 February 2026 on suspicion of misconduct in public office in an investigation concerning allegations that he shared confidential material with Epstein while serving as a UK trade envoy. He denies wrongdoing.
On 8 October 2026, the High Court quashed the search warrants used to search Andrew's properties after Thames Valley Police acknowledged that they had been unlawfully issued. The ruling did not end the investigation. Police are seeking to retain the seized material, with a further hearing expected in 2027 to determine whether it can lawfully be kept and used.
Ferguson has also faced renewed scrutiny over correspondence with Epstein. Emails reported by the BBC included expressions of gratitude for his generosity. She previously described her involvement with him as a 'gigantic error of judgement'.
Neither sister is accused of wrongdoing in the report. Both retain their royal titles and places in the line of succession, and there is no verified evidence of an announced change to that position.
