Donald Trump's WW3 Warning: POTUS Vows to 'Massively Blow Up' Iran Gas Field

Trump fueled mounting World War 3 fears after he threatened to obliterate the world's largest natural gas field in Iran.
Trump took to Truth Social on Wednesday to threaten Iran, which recently launched a retaliatory attack on Qatar. In response to Israel's bombing of the South Pars Gas Field in Iran, the latter launched a missile strike on Qatar's LNG facility, Ras Laffan Industrial City, on 18 March.
Clarifying that the US did not know about the South Pars Gas Field bombing, Trump slammed Iran for involving Qatar, which he said had absolutely nothing to do with the attack. 'Unfortunately, Iran did not know this, or any of the pertinent facts pertaining to the South Pars attack, and unjustifiably and unfairly attacked a portion of Qatar's LNG Gas facility,' he wrote.
Trump's Fiery Threat to Iran
Trump assured that Israel will cease all attacks on the South Pars Gas Field, which were previously committed 'out of anger for what has taken place in the Middle East.' However, he promised the US will not hold back if Iran 'unwisely' decides to attack 'another innocent' like Qatar.
'The United States of America, with or without the help or consent of Israel, will massively blow up the entirety of the South Pars Gas Field at an amount of strength and power that Iran has never seen or witnessed before,' Trump asserted, echoing his previous rhetoric about Iran's nuclear program.
Referring to the US June 2025 strikes on Iranian nuclear sites, Trump said 'he will pursue peace whenever possible, but I will never hesitate to confront threats to America wherever we must,' in his State of the Union address last 24 February, days before the US-Israel strike that killed Ali Khamenei.
Trump threatened the same if Iran doubles down on Qatar, saying 'I do not want to authorize this level of violence and destruction because of the long term implications that it will have on the future of Iran, but if Qatar's LNG is again attacked, I will not hesitate to do so.'
Trump's Threats Spark Backlash
The threat was seen as fearmongering by POTUS critics, who raised the alarm en masse on social media. Among these was political commentator Hasan Piker, who said, 'Everybody PANIC now!!!' while another user stated, 'We've entered a whole new level of wtf!' according to the Daily Star.
Another user noted how Trump's admission that the US was unaware Israel attacked Iran is a sign that the conflict is getting out of hand. 'It seems like things are getting out of control. Israel acting on their own. its too close to an admission that his war is not going well,' they wrote.
Source Claims the US Knew About the South Pars Attack
Meanwhile, an unnamed source told the Associated Press that Washington knew about Israel's plans to strike South Pars. The source did not confirm if the US was complicit or if it attempted to intervene in the attack.
Discovered in Qatari waters in 1971, the South Pars Gas Field holds approximately 51 trillion cubic metres of natural gas, or 13 years' worth of global supply, according to Iran International. The strike only worsened the global economy, which is already reeling after Iranian forces closed the Strait of Hormuz.
