Colombian singer Shakira has posted an adorable picture of her 13-day-old son, cradled by his father, Barcelona defender Gerard Piqué.

"Meet our baby boy Milan," she wrote, including a link to the digital charity baby shower she's holding with UNICEF, to help fund products that help young children and babies.

Previously, Piqué posted an image, which showed Milan's feet in tiny white Nike sneakers with the name "Milan" stitched on their Velcro straps, accompanied by the following short message: "Milan's Feet!"

The 35-year-old singer, who was named a UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador in 2003, welcomed her son, with the 25-year-old footballer, on 22 January at a hospital in Barcelona. He weighed 6lbs 6 ounces at birth.

"We are happy to announce the birth of Milan Piqué Mebarak, son of Shakira Mebarak and Gerard Piqué," she wrote on her official Web site, "The name Milan (pronounced MEE-lahn), means dear, loving and gracious in Slavic; in Ancient Roman, eager and laborious; and in Sanskrit, unification."

"Just like his father, baby Milan became a member of FC Barcelona at birth," she added.

Shakira recently admitted to taking parenthood advice from her father, writer and journalist William Mebarak Chadid.

"But since I can't predict if my little one will come with more advantages or more burdens into this world, and I'm on the threshold of motherhood, I hope the child takes an example from its grandpa, because my dad is a person who always helps settle those little conflicts and that's one reason I'm so proud of him," Shakira said.

Shakira and Pique first met when they were featured together in a music video for the theme song for the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa. They confirmed their relationship in March 2011, with a Facebook post and photograph of the two. She previously dated Antonio De la Rua - the son of former Argentine president Fernando de la Rua - for 10 years.

Shakira will be back in action soon; the Hips Don't Lie Singer will be joining reality competition The Voice on 25 March, as a coach.
