US Marine Veteran Dragged by Senator Tim Sheehy Shouted 'No One Wants to Fight for Israel' Before Police intervened
Protest by Marine veteran Brian McGinnis during a Senate hearing on the Iran conflict leads to a physical altercation and sparks a national debate.

A tense moment inside the United States Senate quickly turned physical when Marine veteran Brian McGinnis, protesting the Iran conflict, was dragged from a hearing room.
McGinnis shouted that 'no one wants to fight for Israel' before United States Capitol Police intervened and removed him from the chamber. Video of the confrontation soon spread across social media and sparked fierce debate about free speech, protest and the growing anger surrounding the war with Iran.
The incident happened during a Senate Armed Services Committee subcommittee hearing. Witnesses said the protest itself lasted only a few seconds, but what followed has raised much bigger questions about dissent, security and the political mood in Washington, DC.

Protest Erupts During Senate Hearing
The confrontation began when McGinnis interrupted the proceedings inside the hearing room.
The Marine veteran, who is running for the North Carolina Senate under the Green Party of the United States, stood up and shouted criticism of US involvement in the conflict with Iran, WION News reported. His remarks immediately caught the attention of security staff.
'America does not want to fight this war for Israel,' McGinnis yelled as he was violently dragged through the hall by the police. 'America does not want to send its sons and daughters to war for Israel! No one wants to fight for Israel!'
Capitol Police moved quickly to remove him from the room. Video footage later showed officers pulling him toward the exit as the disruption unfolded in front of lawmakers and staff.
US Senator Tim Sheehy of Montana also became involved during the struggle. Footage appears to show the senator assisting officers as they pushed McGinnis toward the door.
The scene grew chaotic as McGinnis resisted removal and was physically dragged from the chamber.
Injury Adds New Controversy
The confrontation did not end once McGinnis was outside the room.
McGinnis reportedly broke his arm during the incident. The injury happened during the physical struggle as officers tried to force him out.
In a statement cited by Stuff, the US Capitol Police said McGinnis injured himself when he forced his arm into a door frame while resisting officers. Authorities said he attempted to wedge his arm in the door in an effort to push his way back into the hearing room.
Police also said officers provided medical attention after the incident and that he received treatment for his injuries.
Arrest and Criminal Charges
After the altercation, McGinnis was arrested by Capitol Police.
He now faces several criminal charges connected to the disruption. Authorities said he is charged with three counts of assaulting a police officer along with three counts of resisting arrest and unlawful demonstration.
The US Capitol Police said in a statement that the protester's actions caused a disruption inside the hearing room and required officers to intervene to restore order.
Officials also stressed that security inside the Senate complex is tightly controlled because of safety concerns.
For McGinnis, the protest was meant to send a message about US military involvement overseas.
Senator Sheehy Responds
Senator Tim Sheehy later addressed the incident after video of the confrontation began circulating widely online.
In a message posted on the social media platform X, Sheehy described the protester as 'unhinged' and said the man disrupted a Senate hearing while 'looking for a confrontation.' Because the protester was fighting back, Sheehy admitted that he assisted officers in deescalating the situation.
Capitol Police were attempting to remove an unhinged protestor from the Armed Services hearing. He was fighting back. I decided to help out and deescalate the situation.

The post from Sheehy's official account quickly gathered thousands of reactions and comments as the debate intensified.
Some supporters praised the senator for helping officers restore order during the disruption. Others questioned whether lawmakers should step in physically during such incidents.
Online Reaction Turns the Moment Viral
Much of the public reaction has unfolded online.
Discussion threads on Reddit filled with comments soon after the video began circulating. According to posts on the Reddit forum Fauxmoi, many users reacted strongly to the footage showing McGinnis being dragged out of the chamber.
Some commenters criticised the force used by police and argued that the moment showed how dissent is handled in political spaces. Others defended the officers and said security inside the Senate must respond quickly when a hearing is interrupted.
A Moment That Captured a Wider Divide
What started as a brief protest inside a Senate hearing room quickly grew into a larger political crisis.
Images of a Marine veteran being dragged out while shouting about war struck a nerve with people on both sides of the argument.
For some Americans, the incident represents anger over foreign policy decisions and fears of another war in the Middle East.
For others, it highlights the delicate balance between protest and order inside one of the most powerful political institutions in the United States.
As the video continues to circulate, the moment inside that Senate room is likely to remain part of a much broader national conversation.
