Android Marshmallow OS update rolling out to LG G3 LG

AT & T and T-Mobile have finally started seeding the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update to LG G3 users in the US. Prior to this, in February, Verizon had pushed the Marshmallow update to its customers owning the G3.

The update brings the build number to MRA58K and the software version to D859030k, incorporating a rather outdated March security patch. While the AT &T update is an OTA one, the update isn't rolling out over the air for T-mobile just yet. It is available if you connect your phone to the LG PC Suite. An OTA update should follow soon.

The G3 is a relatively old model compared to the devices scheduled to receive the Marshmallow updates both from LG and other manufacturers. Released more than two years ago, the device was introduced with Android 4.4.2 KitKat after which it got the Lollipop update. Receiving the Marshmallow now is a great sign for users.

On their support pages, T-Mobile and AT &T have not updated that the device will support the latest version of Marshmallow. The Marshmallow OS brings an array of updated features to Android, which include Doze Mode, granular app permissions, Google Now on Tap, expanded internal storage capacity and more.
