Adam The Woo's Cause of Death Confirmed by Family Following Sudden Florida Passing
Adam the Woo's cause of death revealed as family shares autopsy findings after sudden passing

The family of popular YouTuber Adam the Woo has confirmed the cause of his death, more than five weeks after he was found at his Florida home. The creator, whose real name was David Adam Williams, died aged 51, with his passing described as sudden and unexpected. As reported by People, Williams was discovered at his residence in Celebration, Florida, on Dec. 22. His father has now publicly shared details from the autopsy, bringing clarity to weeks of speculation.
In a Facebook post shared on Jan. 26, Adam's father, Jim Williams, revealed that his son died from atherosclerotic and hypertensive cardiovascular disease. According to the autopsy findings, the condition resulted in what Jim described as a 'heart attack in his sleep'.
'The short answer is... natural causes,' Jim wrote. He continued: '... Our beloved son... your beloved friend... died, in essence, of a heart attack in his sleep from health issues he probably never knew he had.' The announcement ended weeks of speculation.
Atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease involves the build-up of plaque within the arteries, while hypertensive heart disease is linked to prolonged high blood pressure. Medical experts note that the two conditions often occur together, significantly increasing the risk of heart attacks and other serious complications.
Jim Williams acknowledged the pain of the loss but expressed gratitude for the circumstances surrounding his son's death. 'Now, we can all stop guessing. Be grateful the Lord allowed him to die at home and not in a foreign country. Be grateful he was found by friends (as hard as that was) and not some nameless stranger,' he wrote. He added a message directly to Adam's supporters: '... Thank you for loving Adam'.
Discovery at Florida home
Authorities previously confirmed that Williams was found dead at his home on Dec. 22. The Osceola County Sheriff's Office (OCSO) said deputies initially attended the property before later returning to respond to what was described as an unattended death.
An OCSO spokesperson explained the sequence of events, stating: 'The residence was secured, and no contact was made with the adult male residing there.' Deputies later returned to the property after concerns were raised.
Deputies then responded again at 2:53 p.m. for an unattended death. A friend had borrowed a ladder and looked through a third‑story window, seeing a male on a bed who was not moving. Upon entering the residence with Fire Rescue, the male was pronounced deceased, the spokesperson added.
A lasting online legacy
Adam the Woo launched his original YouTube channel in 2009, later expanding his online presence with a second channel, The Daily Woo, in 2012. Across both platforms, he amassed a combined following of around 1.2 million subscribers.
Williams became widely known for his travel vlogs across the United States. His final video, published on Dec. 21, just one day before his death, featured Christmas decorations. The video has since been seen by many fans as a poignant final farewell, though there was no indication at the time that anything was wrong.
