The red carpet at the Academy Awards is traditionally a showcase of individual style, yet observers at the 2026 ceremony noted a striking lack of facial variety among Hollywood's elite. From Nicole Kidman to Anne Hathaway, a distinct aesthetic profile seemed to dominate the frame, prompting discussion about the industry's current beauty standards.

A cosmetic expert has weighed in on the celebrities' striking shared resemblance and outlined the subtle procedure that may be behind it.

The Rise of the 'Celestial' Nose on the Red Carpet

Medical experts have identified a shared physical trait among several stars, including Margot Robbie, Nicole Kidman, and Anne Hathaway: an 'upturned' or 'celestial' nasal profile that has become increasingly prevalent on the red carpet. The subtle 'tweakments,' according to Dr Ross Perry, medical director at Cosmedics, are reportedly achieved through dermal filler in a process that takes just minutes.

'There's definitely a noticeable convergence when it comes to nasal aesthetics in Hollywood, and this is veering towards subtle refinement rather than a dramatic change,' Perry told the Daily Mail. He described the most in-demand look as a 'natural balanced' nose, 'typically characterised by a straight dorsum, a refined but not overly narrow bridge, and a softly defined tip that complements the individual's facial proportions.'

Perry added that celebrities pursue this aesthetic to ensure they photograph well from every angle. 'The goal now is harmony rather than perfection, and noses that photograph well from all angles,' he said.

Rhinoplasty Trends in the UK

The 'celestial' look extends beyond Hollywood, with celebrities such as Cara Delevingne, Lily Collins, and Victoria Beckham also cited as examples of the trend. Industry reports indicate that demand for rhinoplasty increased by 25 per cent in the UK last year, as the public seeks to emulate the appearance of their favourite stars.

Non-surgical rhinoplasty has become a popular choice for those seeking a rapid change ahead of high-profile events. Perry, however, believes that celebrities should still maintain their individuality. 'I would add that while trends do influence requests, the best results come from tailoring the nose to the individual's unique features, rather than replicating a one-size-fits-all celebrity look,' he said.

Hollywood's Leading Ladies Stay Quiet — Except One

The stars at the centre of the debate have largely not commented on their cosmetic journeys. Nicole Kidman has faced years of scrutiny over her youthful appearance, while some media reports have suggested Margot Robbie's look has changed noticeably in recent years. Neither has publicly confirmed undergoing any procedure.

Anne Hathaway, however, addressed the speculation directly following her appearance at the Oscars. Rather than confirming any surgical intervention, she shared a 'get ready with me' video revealing that her noticeably lifted look was the result of a hair technique. 'Drumroll, please. Show them our secret,' Hathaway told her hairstylist Orlando Pita, who revealed two small braids on each side of her head, pulled together at the back to create the effect of a facelift. 'And, you look a little bit more awake. That's the trick,' Hathaway said.
