Quick Facts About 'Dexter: Resurrection' Ahead of Release: Cast, Where to Watch, and Michael C. Hall's Return
Michael C. Hall returns as Dexter Morgan in the highly anticipated 'Dexter: Resurrection'

The much-anticipated Dexter: Resurrection is set to premiere this week. The first two episodes are available on Friday, 11 July on Paramount+ Premium. The rest is set to air on Sunday, 13 July via Paramount+ with Showtime.
It follows weeks after the titular character seemingly met his demise at the end of Dexter: New Blood. He awakens from a coma, fleeing his hospital bed and sets his sights on New York City.
Here's what we know so far about the series continuation. This includes the cast, further insight into the setting, and Hall's take on his return as the Bay Harbor Butcher.
Dexter: Resurrection's Star-Studded Cast
The series is set to introduce a variety of new faces that viewers should look forward to. The trailer reveals names like Peter Dinklage and Uma Thurman added to the fray. They're set to play a billionaire and his head of security, respectively.

There's also the addition of Neil Patrick Harris, Krysten Ritter, Eric Stonestreet, and David Dastmalchian. Harris and Ritter are established names in television and are now set to play villainous roles.
David Zayas is also set to reprise his role of Angel Batista. He'll be questioning whether his old colleague has always been a serial killer. Plus, Erik King is also making an appearance as James Doakes, one of the series' earlier antagonists.
Michael C. Hall on Dexter, Spinoffs, And Returning
The Guardian reported that Hall's return to his most iconic role might be relative to Dexter: Original Sin. This spinoff is a prequel which saw Patrick Gibson star as Dexter Morgan instead.
Despite the possibility of envy, Hall said something else entirely. 'I thought it (Gibson on Dexter) was interesting, once all those blanks had been filled in, to find the character on the other side of it,' said Hall.
'Yes, it's very strange (not playing the role). In fact, at one point I was like, when I go back to work, I gotta make sure I'm not just doing a Patrick Gibson impression'.

Dexter was released in 2006, understandably seen as the golden age of television. Hall had to portray a serial killer with conviction, contending with other programs and initially wrapped it up in 2013.
The publication then asked Hall if the darkness of the role ever got to him. Hall said that 'Dexter exists in a world dialled away from reality. As intense as it might be to convey someone who's wrestling with such formidable darkness, it's maybe therapeutic.'
Hall has shown range in his work aside from playing Dexter Morgan. He's been cast as JFK in The Crown, the Emcee in Cabaret, and the leading man in Lazarus by David Bowie. He expressed that he might be a healthier person for exploring different worlds, even dark ones.
Future of the Dexter-verse
Dexter: Original Sin has been greenlit for a second season this spring. We've yet to see if Dexter: Resurrection will be on par for viewers to see more of the spinoff.
There are also rumours that another spinoff is being explored that focuses on the Trinity Killer played by John Lithgow. He has been seen as one of, if not Dexter's best adversaries.
This also suggests how Dexter captured attention more so during its early seasons compared to now. For now, fans will have to tune in to Dexter: Resurrection.
