Kelly Osbourne has addressed mounting online speculation about her health after photographs from her appearance at the BRIT Awards 2026 and London Fashion Week prompted concern from followers. The 41-year-old television personality, attending public events while grieving the death of her father, Ozzy Osbourne, described the online reaction as dehumanising and said she should not have to 'defend myself' simply for appearing in public.

Osbourne joined her mother Sharon at the ceremony in Manchester to collect a posthumous Lifetime Achievement award for the Black Sabbath frontman. The occasion drew significant commentary online, with users speculating about her weight loss and, in some cases, raising unsubstantiated claims about drug use. No such claims have been medically confirmed, and Osbourne has consistently rejected suggestions that she is using medical weight-loss medication.

Trolls, Grief, and Being 'Kicked While I'm Down'

'There is a special kind of cruelty in harming someone who is clearly going through something,' Osbourne said in a statement responding to the commentary. She accused some users of 'kicking me while I'm down, doubting my pain, spreading my struggles as gossip, and turning your back when I need support and love most,' adding that she is navigating 'the hardest time of my life.'

Those close to the family have linked her appearance directly to grief. Sharon has previously said that Kelly struggled to eat properly in the weeks following Ozzy's death, and observers noted that both women appeared visibly thinner in the months that followed. A subsequent appearance at London Fashion Week, where Osbourne attended the Ascot Millinery Collective show at Claridge's in Mayfair, prompted a further wave of similar commentary, some of it, by Osbourne's account, extending to remarks about her late father.

Amid the criticism, Osbourne found support from Mia Tyler, daughter of Aerosmith frontman Steven Tyler, who posted a public defence with the blunt line: 'How hard is it to not be a d**k?' The message was widely shared among fans who expressed frustration at watching someone grieve in public view.

Kelly Osbourne's £5 Million Charity Campaign

Rather than withdrawing from public life, Osbourne has continued working, most visibly through an Omaze campaign filmed with Sharon in Buckinghamshire to raise money for youth homelessness charity Centrepoint, of which Prince William is patron. The campaign promotes a prize draw to win a £5 million Georgian-style mansion in the Lake District, with a fundraising target of £4.5 million, which Centrepoint says would be the largest single donation in its history.

'I said I'd only do this if the charity side was really meaningful. I wanted Omaze to match the value of the house, and they pretty much have,' Osbourne said. She also expressed confidence that William, whom she described as an 'amazing King' in waiting, would be pleased with the scale of the donation.

The promotional film is shot in a format that deliberately recalls the family's reality programme 'The Osbournes', with Sharon interrupting Kelly's opening pitch to ask about dogs and the property value. 'Oh for f*** sake mum,' Kelly responds, to the evident delight of fans who flooded the comments praising the 'very Osbourne' dynamic. Behind the humour, the video carries visible grief. Both women are shown flicking through old family photo albums, and Kelly breaks down, recalling Ozzy's 2003 quad-bike accident at the family's Buckinghamshire estate, where he is now buried. Sharon has since moved back into that property, while Kelly has relocated from Los Angeles to nearby Beaconsfield.

The royal connection extends beyond William's patronage. King Charles, who met Ozzy on several occasions, wrote to Sharon after his death to offer condolences. Osbourne described him as 'so kind' and said her mother keeps the letter by her bedside. Centrepoint chief executive Seyi Obakin described the Osbournes' contribution as 'truly inspiring', while Omaze said it has raised more than £100 million for UK charities since 2020.
