Brutal Knee Injury Leaves Moses Moody's Future Uncertain, Sparks Widespread Reaction
Warriors' Moody Faces Uncertain Future After Non-Contact Knee Injury

Moses Moody's return to the Golden State Warriors on Monday, 23 March, was intended to make up for him missing the team's last 10 games. But following a horrific knee injury, the 23-year-old may have seen his 2025-26 season come to an end.
Moody suffered a non-contact left knee injury during the 137–133 overtime win over the Dallas Mavericks at the American Airlines Center. The 14th overall pick of the 2021 NBA Draft had just stolen the ball from Mavs rookie Cooper Flagg at the time and was going for a breakaway dunk.
He took off awkwardly after his left knee buckled, falling badly to the floor. It was only after a missed three-point attempt by Max Christie that the Dubs were able to call a timeout, rushing to the aid of the fallen 6-foot-5 player.
Athletic training staff ran to Moody's aid, immediately covering up his knee. The game was halted for several minutes with players from both teams looking on in dread. Moody would be stretchered off the court, a dreadful end for Moody who finished with 23 points, 3 rebounds and 3 assists, ESPN reported.
Kerr Bracing for the Worst
Already dealing with problems with his other players unable to play due to injuries, the Moody mishap is something Warriors coach Steve Kerr dreads. While there is no official word on the shooting guard's injury, Kerr is bracing for the worst.
'We don't know what it is, but it sure looked bad,' Kerr said in a report from the New York Times/ The Athletic. 'Just hoping for the best.'
Draymond Green also rued the Moody injury. The veteran player credited the former Razorback for helping the team turn things in their favour. He admitted it was a horrific ending to an otherwise great performance.
'Everything started going bad, he picked up his defensive intensity, knocked shots down, he changed the game for us. To see him go out like that [was] bad,' Green, who gave Moody a brotherly hug as he was being carried off the floor, quipped.

That touching gesture of Green didn't escape the eye of fans. One pointed out how many hated Draymond but the concern he showed to Moody showed who he really was outside the basketball court.
Draymond gets all the hate but moments like this show who he really is off the court. Hope Moody comes back stronger — any updates on what the injury actually is?

Fans who saw the game and the Moody injury were also left in shock. Some aired how unfortunate the injury was, especially since Moses had just come back after being sidelined in the Warriors' last 10 games.
'This is really sad to see 😔 Moses Moody was having such a strong game coming back from that wrist issue, and then this happens on a non-contact play. Heartbreaking for him and the Warriors,' one fan wrote after seeing Moody's tragic knee injury.

Wishing him a full and speedy recovery—rooting hard for you, Moses! Get well soon 💪…
Moody Likely Out For Some Time
As of this writing, the actual injury has yet to be announced. However according to former NFL physician David J. Chao, it appears to be a patellar tendon rupture based on the video review. He added that this will likely require surgery and keep Moody sidelined for at least one calendar year.
Not for squeamish! 🙈#MosesMoody @warriors 🏀

It is an unfortunate development for Moody and the Warriors. Looking ahead, all Moody can do is root for the team from the sidelines. As for Kerr, he will need to adjust anew and make the most out of the healthy bodies he has on the Warriors roster.
