Everything that Harry Styles Said About His Sexuality

In 2022, Styles addressed questions about his sexuality in an interview with Rolling Stone, saying he preferred not to explain his private life publicly. 'There's always going to be a version of a narrative, and I think I just decided I wasn't going to spend the time trying to correct it or redirect it in some way,' he said.

In a separate interview, Styles said that being forced to define one's sexuality felt outdated. 'It doesn't matter, and it's about not having to label everything, not having to clarify what boxes you're checking,' he said.

In 2019, Styles was asked about the perception that he is not straight, based on his song lyrics and fashion choices. He acknowledged the question had come up many times, but said he genuinely could not understand why it mattered so much to people.

'Yeah, I think I do mean that. It's not like I'm sitting on an answer, and protecting it, and holding it back. It's not a case of: "I'm not telling you cos I don't want to tell you." It's not: "ooh this is mine and it's not yours." It's: who cares? Does that make sense? It's just: who cares?' he said.
