Lawyers Defend Alexander Brothers Amid Trafficking Case: 'They Were Womanisers, Not Rapists'

The lawyers of the Alexander brothers maintained that their clients were womanisers, not rapists. This was the statement the legal counsel stressed after their clients were convicted of sex trafficking on Tuesday, 10 March.
'They're not drugging them, they're not raping them, but they're certainly pursuing them,' Marc Agnifilo, a lawyer for Oren Alexander, said in a report by BBC News.
The verdict was delivered after five weeks of a trial that included 11 women testifying against the Alexander brothers. According to some of the female victims, some of them were minors when they were sexually taken advantage of by the brothers.
It was also an unhappy outcome for two of the three brothers, Tal Alexander and Oren Alexander. Both are well-known in the sale of luxury real estate properties in New York and Miami.
Upon hearing the decision, Tal, Oren, and their other brother, Alon, could do nothing but shake their heads after the jury foreperson said 'guilty' 19 straight times. Their parents and Alon's wife were stunned by the decision, meaning that the Alexander brothers could spend the rest of their lives behind bars, the Associated Press reported. Sentencing is set for 6 August 2026.
Alexander Attorneys Won't Give Up the Fight
Despite the verdict, the Alexanders vow to continue fighting. Their lawyers believe that the brothers are innocent and Agnifilo is confident that this will be proven one day.
'We believe in our clients' innocence and we're not going to stop fighting until we prevail, and we believe that we will one day prevail,' Oren Alexander's lawyer stated.
However, proving their innocence won't come easy, especially after videos were presented to the jury. One of them involved Oren Alexander allegedly drugging and raping a 17-year-old. The incident took place at his Manhattan apartment in 2009.
Aside from that, there was the revelation of Tracy Tutor a couple of days ago. As reported here on IBT UK, the reality TV star singled out Oren for spiking her drink at a function and then taking advantage of her in the men's room.
When she got back to her senses, Tutor claims she woke up in a different hotel room with her tampon removed, leading her to believe that she had been sexually assaulted. Despite her allegations, a lawyer for Alexander branded it as a false accusation and said it was meant to hype media attention.
The Fall of Real Estate's 'A-Team'
The conviction also signals a huge freefall for the Alexanders, particularly Oren and Tal. Once hailed as the A-Team in real estate for their sales and celebrity clients, their womanising ways arguably told on them.
According to prosecutors, one or more of the Alexander brothers raped roughly over 60 women. Some of their victims shared how they met the brothers at nightclubs, parties or dating apps and were taken on all-expenses-paid trips.
However, this included being handed spiked drinks or being drugged. Some ended up blacking out and only realising that they were sexually taken advantage of once they regained consciousness.
Given their stature, it wasn't surprising that the defence argued that the women were coming out to air their experiences for monetary gain. However, that angle does not cover all, since some of the female victims are financially well off.
Reactions from Victims
Among those who reacted to this insinuation was the daughter of a billionaire. After clarifying that she didn't need the money, she followed it up with an interesting and vindictive answer.
'I don't want their money. I just don't want them to have it,' said the woman, who was only 17 when she was raped by Alon Alexander in Aspen, Colorado.
Another victim, Lindsey Acree, said she never needed the money. Instead, the artist and gallery owner wanted to hit back at the Alexanders where it hurt the most.
'Money is their stick, so you take it away so they can't hurt people anymore,' Acree, who was raped by Tal Alexander and another man at a home in the Hamptons in 2011 said.
