Maren Morris Blasts 'Cornball' Donald Trump And 'Bamboozled' Supporters In Fiery Video
In a political powder keg, one singer's brutal honesty refuses to fade quietly.

Country singer Maren Morris, 35, has unleashed a blistering attack on supporters of President Donald Trump in a TikTok video posted last Friday, labelling them 'bamboozled' for backing what she called a 'dementia-ridden, diaper-clad, cornball ex-TV host.' The Grammy winner, famed for hits like The Bones and My Church, didn't hold back, capping her rant by mocking Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth's 'f*****g alcoholic sideburns.'
Morris has long been the sharpest thorn in country music's conservative side. She first made waves in 2021 by calling out transphobic comments from fellow artists, then escalated in 2023 by branding parts of the genre 'toxic' amid her own personal reckonings.
Maren Morris's Unfiltered Political Firestorm
The latest TikTok clip from Morris, captioned 'sorry to empty the clip,' feels like the latest salvo in her career defined by refusing to play nice.
'I don't have forgiveness for the triple Trumpers or any of the Trumpers. You did vote for this,' she begins, voice dripping with disdain. Then comes the kicker: 'He is a dementia-ridden, diaper-clad, cornball, ex TV host... you voted for this and you got bamboozled.'
She piles on, slamming the outcome as 'literally the result of employing and voting for losers,' before turning to Hegseth – Trump's Fox News alum turned Defense Secretary, sworn in just over a year ago. 'Oh my God. Girl, his f*****g alcoholic sideburns. You're done.'

It's raw, it's reckless, and it's racking up views. Social media lit up, with some cheering her as a truth-teller – one Reddit thread hailed her as 'fabulous' – while others decried it as bitter celebrity whining.
Morris, who's backed Kamala Harris before and champions LGBTQ+ rights, racial justice, and gender equality, knows her audience. She's lost fans over this stuff, admits it costs her professionally, but doubles down anyway. Trump, of course, remains a favourite target; a White House memo last December insisted he's in 'excellent overall health,' but Morris isn't buying it.
Nashville loyalists might bristle – she's a 12-year Nashville resident who's shifted labels, ditched country radio, and sits out awards like the CMAs. Yet she insists country pulses through her veins.
Speaking to The Guardian last year about her album Dreamsicle, she pushed back on headlines claiming she'd fled the genre: 'I never said I'm leaving country music... It's in my bones.' No backpedalling on the toxicity charge, though; she told the Los Angeles Times she once wanted to 'burn it to the ground,' though it's imploding fine without her.
Maren Morris's Bisexual Pride and Country Music Rift
This outburst lands amid her most personal chapter yet. Morris came out as bisexual in June 2024 with a simple Instagram post: 'Happy to be the B in LGBTQ+, happy pride!'
For her first Pride after, she celebrated openly, calling community 'life-saving' post-divorce from country star Ryan Hurd. They share five-year-old son Hayes, and she always knew her attractions ran both ways – but Nashville's straight-laced scene and career grind kept it locked down. 'I never felt brave enough,' she confessed to The Zoe Report. Now? She's all in, connecting with queer fans who stuck by her.
That vulnerability fuels her edge. On The New York Times' Popcast in 2023, she vented about absorbing 'bad behaviours' in country post-2020: 'I've changed... I cannot participate in the really toxic arms of this institution anymore.'
Fans matter too much to ditch entirely – 'I'd never be so reckless' as to say she's leaving them behind. Still, her TikTok swipe shows no softening towards the right-wing bent she sees dominating the genre and beyond.
Hegseth, for his part, has been busy as Defense Secretary, pushing warrior ethos, slashing climate studies, and overseeing strikes on Iran last week – declaring 'we're finishing' what foes started. No word from his camp on Morris's sideburn shade. Trump supporters, meanwhile, shrug off the barbs from a singer who's pivoted to pop anyway. But Morris? She's not apologising.
