Spider-Noir Teaser Reveals Nicolas Cage as a Gritty, Ageing Hero in Marvel Noir
Marvel's Spider-Noir promises a gritty, dual-format experience with Nicolas Cage as Ben Reilly

Nicolas Cage is making his debut in the Marvel Universe as he takes the role of Ben Reilly in Marvel's Spider-Noir. The live-action series, which was teased in the latest teaser trailer with a clip of a striking black-and-white noir alongside its True-Hue colour version, promises a darker, grittier take on the Spider-Man mythos.
Inspired by Marvel Comics' Spider-Man Noir, the live-action series follows Ben Reilly, a beaten- down private investigator navigating the dark streets of 1930s New York. Academy Award-winning actor Nicolas Cage brings the character of Ben Reilly, who must confront his past as New York's only superhero, to life. The teaser trailer was unveiled by Marvel Studios via Prime Video on Thursday.
Joining Nicolas Cage in the cast of the live-action series are Lamorne Morris as journalist Robbie Robertson, Li Jun Li as night club chanteuse Cat Hardy, and Karen Rodriguez as Janet, Ben Reilly's assistant detective. The ensemble also includes Jack Huston, Abraham Popoola, Brendan Gleeson, and Jack Huston.
Dual Format, Dual Experience
According to TV Blackbox, the series is set to stream in two different formats, the vibrant 'True-Hue Full Colour,' and the classic 'Authentic Black & White.' The unique approach gives audiences the freedom to choose between two ways to experience the series' story.
The dual-experience approach gives Marvel fans a more immersive journey into the darkness of 1930s New York and into Ben Reilly's morally complex world. Marvel's decision to release the series in dual format is a nod to classic noir cinema while keeping the appeal to contemporary audiences.
The first trailer for the ‘SPIDER-NOIR’ series has been released.

Confirmed to guest in the series are Lukas Haas, Cameron Britton, Michael Kostroff, Cary Christopher, Joe Massingill, Whitney Rice, Kai Caster, Amanda Schull, Andrew Caldwell, Amy Aquino, and Andrew Robinson.
Cage: Fame, Career Setbacks, Marvel's Hero
One of Hollywood's most versatile actors, Academy Award winner Nicolas Cage's career spans over four decades. His iconic roles from Face/Off opposite John Travolta and Leaving Las Vegas cemented his name in cinematic history.
Cage's career has seen a series of ups and downs over the past decade. Though his roles in The Wicker Man and Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance were positively received, Cage's habit of taking on roles in high volume has resulted in an inconsistency in box-office reception.
While some applaud the casting of Nicolas Cage as Ben Reilly, other critics remain skeptical on whether his persona can successfully portray the character. Despite this, social media has been ablaze not just with speculation, but also with memes, highlighting that the choice has already made the series a talking point ahead of its release.
I might get a lot of hate for this, but Nicholas Cage is one of the worst actors in my opinion.. can’t stand any movie he’s ever been in https://t.co/441OfOnPc6

In any case, viewers can still anticipate a darker, character-driven take on the Spider-Man universe from Cage. The action set in the 1930s, paired with dual visual format choices and a star-studded cast, is enough to put the Spider-Man Noir anticipation at an all-time high.
