Nancy Guthrie Development Takes Dark Turn After FBI Visit Tucson Mexican Restaurant Staff Recall Creepy Onlookers
Federal agents revisit Tucson filming locations tied to Savannah Guthrie as restaurant workers recall unsettling onlookers during the televised mother-daughter segment.

FBI agents have interviewed staff at a Tucson Mexican restaurant where Savannah Guthrie and her mother filmed a 'Today' show segment months before Nancy Guthrie's disappearance, with employees recalling that investigators asked specifically about suspicious behaviour from onlookers during the filming.
Nancy Guthrie, mother of 'Today' co-host Savannah Guthrie, has been missing since 1 February, when she vanished from her home in Tucson, Arizona. What began as a missing-person case has since drawn national attention and an expanding FBI investigation into whether the family may have been observed during public appearances in the months prior.
FBI Interviews Restaurant Staff as Investigation Intensifies
The information was disclosed by journalist Brian Entin during his podcast 'Brian Entin Investigates'. According to Entin's reporting, FBI agents visited the restaurant to question staff about unusual activity during the filming, asking whether any customers appeared overly interested in the production, behaved strangely around the cameras, or were otherwise conspicuous. One employee recalled investigators asking whether there had been anyone 'who looked suspicious when Savannah was here filming with her mum.' Staff were also asked about 'anyone who wanted to take pictures or who got angry or who was lingering around in a creepy way.'
The FBI's interest in the restaurant reflects a broader effort to revisit locations connected to the Guthrie family's public appearances. In November last year, Savannah and Nancy filmed segments across Tucson for the 'Today' show, revisiting places tied to Savannah's childhood. Investigators are now examining those locations to determine whether anyone may have followed or targeted the family during or after filming. Officials have not confirmed any direct link between the restaurant and Nancy's disappearance.
The Mysterious Witness Claim
A further development involves a man who reportedly came forward claiming to have seen Nancy days after she was reported missing. The individual allegedly told investigators he had seen her 'five days ago,' though authorities have not publicly verified the account. Investigators have not disclosed whether the claim has been corroborated or whether the witness is considered credible. The possibility that Nancy may have been seen after her disappearance has nonetheless added urgency to the investigation.
Old Television Clip Takes on New Meaning
Online interest in the case has intensified following the resurfacing of a 2013 'Today' show segment featuring Nancy and Savannah. In it, Nancy demonstrates how to make a bed while chatting with her daughter inside the Tucson home where she had lived since the 1990s. Speaking on his podcast, Brian Entin reflected on the clip's significance. 'It's just so weird because the clip is actually shot in her mum's bedroom and she was still in that house since the '90s,' he said, adding it was 'the same bedroom that she was, you know, likely abducted from.'
Investigation Enters Sixth Week
The search for Nancy Guthrie has entered its sixth week, with the FBI and the Pima County Sheriff's Department continuing to pursue all available leads. Investigators have been re-examining businesses, interviewing witnesses and analysing surveillance footage across Tucson. No suspects or persons of interest have been publicly identified, and no vehicles linked to the disappearance have been named. Savannah Guthrie has announced a $1 million (approximately £749,000) reward for information leading to her mother's safe return, as supporters across the country continue to rally behind the search.
